The new Robin Hood holy sh-t..."modern" period pieces

why do people make "modern" period pieces like this?
how many drugs do you have to smoke to go through this process and think "oh man this won't be totally shitty"?
from the overly kinetic cameras to the modern (yet disguised) tech, they're all the same. hell this one even had modern costumes
i mean seriously look at this shite
one of the first scenes in this movie has a bunch of Crusaders engaging in modern combat formations and using their bows like drawn firearms

Agreed. The King Arthur one with Charlie Hunnam was insanely awful too.

it's not the same thing. that is just transplanting the play onto a modern setting

I enjoyed the Guy Ritchie King Arthur, for the most part. I also had low expectations.

I was coming here to post this. Just finished it and it was so bad. Among all the things you said, it was just lazy writing. Which sucks bc it could have been good.
