Can’t believe that this movie is as bad as it is. There is no story. I don’t care whether the monsters kill any of these people. The movie doesn’t make any damn sense.

1998 with Broderick was way better.

Agree with you. Walked out of it too, which I basically never ever do. Not good.

I too just turned it off. Was shocked to see we didn’t make it much further than halfway

The 1998 movie was an abortion and was more a ripoff of Jurassic Park then it was a Godzilla film.

The story in KOTM may have been weak but at least they stayed true to the source material

Funny because I remember in 1998 that NO ONE liked that movie. It was torn to shreds as a complete piece of shite.

You go to a Godzilla movie for the STORY??

Personally, I went to it for competently shot, exciting monster sequences. I didn't get those, so the insultingly stupid plot was all I could focus on.

I'd rather see the guy in the Godzilla suit kicking over city models than this cheap pixelization. Spielberg can make a dinosaur that looks real with a real variety of colors. The cheap pixelated Godzilla scenes were either red-orange or blue-grey.

Shin Godzilla (a couple of years ago) is really really good (if you can hang with Japanese subtitles).

I watched it the weekend the recent Godzilla came out, and after initial (problematic) reviews came in, I deduced the new movie wouldn’t be as entertaining, so I skipped it completely.

Would highly recommend Shin Godzilla if you need a monster rampage fix with a decent story as a backdrop.

I don't go to a Godzilla movie for the people. I enjoyed it. I wish they would just have the movie with no humans at all.

The 1954 movie is the exception when it comes to being a great movie top to bottom. The rest are all about the monster fights, which this new one did just fine at. I get the feeling some posters in here just aren't familiar with Godzilla movies.

And I agree with the poster that suggested Shin Godzilla.

people bitch the 1st didnt have enough Godzilla and Kaiju fighting, and too much on the people.

they make this one and feature the monsters, people bitch about the story.

just no pleasing some of you frickers - and you wonder why all they do are remakes and comic movies

And now I know what you think what you think. You are an idiot if you think that. The 1998 movie was Ishtar level bad.

Well, yeah. That’s true for the most part.

Now we can’t even have an intelligent discussion.

Yes it was, it was also entertaining. Something the last two Godzilla movies failed to accomplish.
