The show makes no sense anymore.
The bad guy was the one who wanted to go back to hard work and loved democracy. The good guys were the fat, orgiastic royals who wanted to never work? I don’t even know what they’re trying to say. What’s the lesson? Who is this show for?

Sometimes I wonder why Grogu is even needed in this show besides to sell merchandise. At this point he’s just there and an afterthought.
They have GOT to be done with these side quests. Kinda sucks when you look forward to the new episode all week then get home from work and you’re fed this shite sandwich with Lizzo of all people. Lizzo knighting Grogu
ffs
Get back to the dark feel and over arching storyline.

Palpatine didn't create the Separatists, he smoked them out and used them to consolidate power. A lot of Dooku's rhetoric was true, even if it was doublespeak intended to confuse the Jedi (and the viewer).
He couldn't take control of the Republic via politics with them still a part of it, they would be far too resistant to his ambitions. So he played them, got them to reveal themselves and commit. This simultaneously got rid of his most powerful obstacles, and scared the remaining members of the Senate into allowing him to form a powerful military that answered only to the central government (him). As we saw otherwise, the individual planets had some defense forces, but had 'evolved' into relying solely on diplomacy via the Senate.
The Mandalorian is probably no more than 30 or so years after the Clone Wars. There would be lots of people around who remembered that war, who later questioned whether the wrong side had won. Andor is maybe 15 years, the midpoint between; and by then it was very apparent the Empire was bad news.
Most of these Outer Rim planets in this show, they're independents... basically separatist in mentality.
As much as people like to say all Hollywood is leftist and globalist, the big overall political point of Star Wars is the danger of too much power consolidating into one central government, and being able to impose their will onto everyone for the profit of a few elites.

I’m loving the show. They’re setting up big things
I was not expecting these big things to include the Bo-Katan Comedy Hour.

That’s how I feel about it. Hell, I don’t even know why Din is in the show anymore.
My enthusiasm for this show has plummeted, and I was all about it just last season. Terrible.

It’s fitting that Lizzo’s character was named after a weapon designed to destroy all mandalorians. This may be the last season.

Your post in no way is a response to mine. I didn’t say anything about the force or Palpatine or separatists or politics.
I’m saying this episode had no moral or ethical compass. It was just a series of events. Like everything in this season.
I’m fine with the “good guys” of an episode really being the “bad guys.” But on a show like this, where you have an adventure of the week, you kinda need to put a little more into that dynamic than they did. It’s what separates a good show from a bad. Why did their society go the way it did? What separates them from other Star Wars planets that have the same capacity to become opulent and hedonistic? Why do the ugnhauts slave away in the sewers?
Shows like Star Trek, hell even Buck Rogers, would have posed these questions. This show is just lazy and poorly written.

Think about the boner everyone had when Luke showed up on the finale and all the possibilities moving forward, and we get this?
Didn’t they even hire the dude from YouTube to reimagine Luke? Wtf for
Also, Bo-Katan, what’s everyone’s gut telling them about her long game?
I’m a casual fan and don’t know her from the books or tv show. Is she trying to get the saber to turn bad?

I suggest binging Rebels. I just did it and the Bo-Katan story line makes a little more sense.

No way around it. This show is getting stupid. It's not worthless and I still like watching it for the most part, but it's just dumb now.

the crack directed at Din is accurate; neither he nor his family was from Mandalore. Thus, no Mandalorian blood. He merely has joined a clan/cult FROM Mandalore, and has espoused their beliefs and ideals.
He's honorary. They're the real thing.
He's a convert like Walter from the Big Lebowski was to Judaism.
Despite being a Gentile-to-Jew convert, because of Walter's strict adherence/observance, Jews IRL regard that cinematic character as iconic & important as the orthodox Jew portrayal of Tevye in Fiddler On The Roof. Much like Walter sure as shite doesn't fukin' roll on Shabbos, Din doesn't remove his helmet. Din is the real thing.

The way the whole Christopher Lloyd thing went from not knowing anything to cracking the case was some bad Saturday morning cartoon writing that had me cringing.

The only positive that I could come up with from this episode was that Jack Black seemed to be having fun.
But then he always seems to be having fun.

The cameos were out of place and the writing, story as well as dialog, has gone completely to shite. And baby Yoda looks faker and faker with every episode.

he excels at everything he does because he has fun with everything he does.
I'm not normally one to be doom and gloom but even i notice the quality drop-off this season.

Season 3 has just been bad, I can't wait for Bo Katan to get spun off into her own show and let Mando get back to doing Mando things.
What's wrong in season 3?
1) There's no stakes/immediate danger. Being on a "mission" is very different than being the reluctant body guard to a kid imperials are after.
2) Most of the alien settings seem cheesy and too happy. I'm not saying Star Wars is gritty, but it kind of is. The alien worlds/bars etc. should look like Mos Eisley Cantina or something you'd see on Firefly, not Alice in Wonderland. Even Carl Weathers as Magistrate has done a 180 going from the surly manager running bounty hunters to a "can't we all just get along" politician.
Between Bo Katan changing the focus and the show's tonal change, it's just not the same.
