I’m gonna finish out the season but unless things turn around, this might be my last season. Doesn’t even seem like the same show. Just retire it and give Bo Katan her own show if this is the way things will go. Feels like how Mando came in and took over the Boba Fett series and the focus went to him for some reason.

To be clear, there’s nothing wrong with the show, really. It’s still well made. But the emphasis on Bo Katan and less of an emphasis on Mando and Grogu just isn’t for me. This whole season has felt…wasted. It just feels like one big setup to me. Setup for future seasons and future spin-offs. There’s been 0 character work or arc for Mando or Grogu this season and it’s their fricking show

ETA: it really feels like they were done with Mando after the first two seasons, didn’t expect it to be THIS popular and had no idea what else to do and are therefore bored with him and Grogu. Seems like Filoni and Favreau want to move on from Mando into other shows.

This season is going to end with Bo Katan climbing the Mandalorian throne only for Din to come holding the dark saber, kneel before her and present it to her at this point

I don't think they want to move on I think Pedro wants to so they have to setup other things. Also maybe some mandalorians think Moff still has rights to the Dark Saber so they felt like they were rescuing their leader. I guess it's possible they didn't know he was defeated in combat.

I mean maybe that’s true but I just don’t see why he would. He’s not in the suit hardly at all and mostly just does the voice.

I wonder if the mandalorians are being set up with that beskar fragment at the end?

Weren’t the black droids that Luke Skywalker worked over made from beskar steel? Maybe the chunk in the shuttle was from one of them?

That's been my gut feeling from the jump. She seems to be the embodiment of a chaotic neutral character.

So my 2 dumb questions:

What is the theory on who helped Moff?

Where has Moff been hiding?

I also do not like the show’s focus on Bo Katan. I want the focus back on the series original characters with occasional canon character cameos. I don’t want the show to turn into an extension of the Rebels and Clone Wars shows.

Also… I might be in the minority on this, but I think they wrote themselves into a hole by making Grogu age so slowly. It’s clear they want him to “grow,” but he’s still like a baby, and a year isn’t going to make any difference. They need him to hit puberty or something if they want to train him to be a Mandalorian. Otherwise, it’s just ridiculous.

To my knowledge the battledroids that Luke decimated did not have besksar armor. If they did, Luke’s lightsaber would’ve been less effective.

Small nitpick here, but when the Mando team landed on Navarro, got pinned down and cornered in the street, why didn’t they use their jet packs to get to the roofs. Then they would’ve had the high ground lol.

Also thought Armorer was gonna double cross Bo when she walked out without the helmet

I’ll also add that short haired chic double agent is really good in that role. I hate her already

Moff is only a title, it's not his first name. Remember Grand Moff Tarkin?

That said, it was clearly an Imperial feint to frame the Mandalorians, since Gideon for an eyeball full of Djarin and Kryse when he was apprehended. Revenge would be squarely on the minds of both Gideon and anyone seeking to spring him.

Bonus: Gideon is a direct report to Grand Admiral Thrawn.

Aside- the folding in of the former Rangers of the New Republic storylines into this show are getting better. Watching the New Republic struggle with growing bureaucracy is thematically in keeping with what we see Mon Mothma encounter while still a member of the Imperial Senate during Andor.

You can see Chopper and the Ghost for about 1 second each in Rogue One.

Sabine may have broken out Gideon to get to Thrawn/Ezra.

For those who haven't watched Rebels, you are missing out.

I had this same thought the other day. Given the little we know of his species, and Yoda being like 900 years old at his death, it’ll be years beyond the life expectancy of any other character on the show before Grogu’s even remotely close to adulthood. Even if their body/mind aging is exponential at a certain point, it’ll be at least 50-100 years in universe before he’s an adolescent even.

I do think we’ll hear Grogu speak this season, but I almost wonder if the story is going to necessitate a MacGuffin at some point. Maybe something to do with cloning technology or essentially a hyperbolic time chamber like DBZ

I think they wrote themselves into a hole by having them reunite so quickly. It pretty much killed any chance of character development from Mando

Hadn't thought about that. Would make sense if they're planning to tie into the upcoming Ahsoka series before the end of the Mando season.

Sabine wouldn’t have murdered New Republic police just to get to Gideon.

Did she give it back to Din? It seems like it's rightfully hers if she didn't. That crab alien thing defeated Din to take it. She defeated the crab to take it from him. So, now it's hers.
