I think Clone Wars has higher highs but lower lows than Rebels. And I would’ve loved to have seen some Rebels fan service in Rogue One. I think they missed a golden opportunity there.

As far as the show, I didn’t care for three quarters of the show diverting to those others. It’s not the fact that it was a diversion, it just wasn’t interesting. I didn’t care for any of that.

So is Bo setting up a situation where she slays the Mythasaur with Dark Saber? Why else would she keep quiet about it?

Wasn't Chopper supposed to have had a background cameo in one of the movies?

I don't think the plan is to slay it. The plan is to ride it.

I'm not that deeply versed in SW/Mandalorian lore, but doesn't the Mythosaur trump the Darksaber, in terms of ruling/leading the Mandalorians? Longer history involved?

I believe so. Mythosaur is from the very beginning of Mandalorian culture. But I don't see Bo Katan being able to ride it.

It’s not much but Chopper is in it briefly, Hera is mentioned, and the Ghost is seen flying.

I must not remember correctly then. I thought it was seen in The Rise of Skywalker at the end.

Can someone explain the whole subplot of this episode to me like I’m 5?

I know who the doctor is and Moff Gideon all that stuff. But why did she set him up and what is a mind flayer?

It's all conjecture, but it seems like they're trying to patch the sequels into the rest of Star Wars.

Doc involved in cloning; on Bad Batch we also have a look at post-Kamino cloning. Seems to be the same basic premise, 20 yrs apart.

Bad Batch is trying to set up cloning at a hidden location, and anyone aware of it is getting rounded up. Those villagers just happened to be attacked by a critter, ok- still got taken and silenced.

That gets shut down when the Empire goes out... but Moff Gideon was after Grogu for cloning reasons. Now, one of his underlings finds Doc, gets him to gather all needed material, and then has his mind wiped.

So Gideon will have his gear, possibly an upload of his mind/knowledge to work with, and Doc will no longer have any ability to either state what he was working on, or to rat anyone out.

It seems to be setting up the long play to clone Palpatine back, as we see end up happening in Rise of Skywalker.

We don't know if Gideon stays with the project, but it ultimately does get completed.

I’m afraid that the ultimate purpose of The Mandalorian and The Bad Batch shows is to support the ridiculous storyline of Rise of Skywalker.

Bo-Katan is fully invested in the Kool-Aid now. Partnering with the covert has her buying in the sense of community.

If they learn to ride those Shriekhawks, that's gonna put the jetpacks to shame.

The Order 66 flashback was a long time coming

Who the hell was the black guy that rescued Grogu and what was that whole plot?

The actor was Ahmed Best, who played Jar Jar Binks. As far as who he is, I assume we'll find out in more episodes. Fans were hoping for an established Jedi like Quinlan Vos to be his rescuer, but I guess we're getting a new character.

ETA: Apparently he is an established character.
quote:

Best was playing a Jedi named Kelleran Beq, who found Grogu alone in an elevator during the attack and assured him everything would be alright before cutting down clone troopers with green and purple lightsabers and doing some fancy flying to escape pursuing ships.

It's not the first time Best has played Beq, and it's not the first Beq Best has played. The actor first portrayed Kelleran Beq as the host of a 2020 online children's game show called Star Wars: Jedi Temple Challenge, in which teams of tykes would have to survive obstacle courses, test their knowledge in a quiz, and be tempted by the dark side
