I had a brief thought wondering how that show would really be considering how calm and stoic Luke is, but then I remembered The Mandalorian is about a dude in a helmet with zero personality so I think they could make it work lol

I just binged all 8 chapters of Season 2 for the first time. frickin' incredible.
Chapters 13 to 16 especially just kept getting better and better:

Favereau/Filoni finally delivered the goods I had hoped & imagined Lucas (prequels) and Abrams/Johnson (sequels) would deliver. And I don't care that it was a tv series. I got what I wanted and almost 8 hrs worth!

A common feature of discussion about this show is how the people behind it just get the material. Even the actors get it.

The way forward is to simply ignore the sequels. If you have to show Luke what happens in world between worlds and say this is your future if you don't get your shite together.

My 3 year old daughter ruined it for all of us. As soon as the green lightsaber appeared she goes "Daddy that's Luke Skywalker!"

I was expecting a Jedi to show up so when I saw the X Wing fly in I knew it was Luke. But my son saw the saber hilt and knew it was Luke then.

I didn't say anything because I didn't want to ruin it for my wife, but I also had the feeling that they were faking us out. That the hood would pull back to reveal someone else and that Luke would be the McGuffin for Season 3.

I accidentally spoiled myself that Luke was in it, but didn't tell my 11 year old son. He was tearing up once he realized what was going on. Kept saying who is it? I think he realized it but its like he couldn't believe it was happening. I really thought they would bring in ezra, but really think they'll save him for the ahsoka show.

I think if Season One hadn't been received so amazingly, they might have shied away from going balls out. If any other creator had brought back Boba and Luke, a good portion of the fans would've thrown a fit. Favreau and Filoni have everyone's trust.

Hamill is a legend - to Star Wars. No question. And he’s also pretty good at playing the animated Joker, I assume.

The way they revealed it was fantastic. Single X-Wing, hooded figure walking alone, it's obviously a jedi but it's black and white on the screen, oh it's jedi with a green lightsaber, he's wearing a black glove, finally he's a total badass. Great story telling.
