Alright, did anyone else get irrationally mad that Mando didn't give Grogu the ball from the ship? He rescued it from the wreckage and pocketed it when they destroyed his ship.
no because imagine when in the future Mando is about to die and the camera shows the ball fly out of his suit and into a green hand. Slowly pan up and it's Grogu then we see his lightsaber light up.

Those fan reactions are over the top but they aren’t just about seeing Luke again. A big part of it is due to the gutting provided by Rian Johnson. To get the real Luke back after that bastard tried to destroy him was very satisfying
.

Well, these are hard core fans, to be sure. But even casual fans had to be taken aback by the unexpected scene.

I don't watch TM, so I'm guessing there was no foreshadowing of Luke's return, was there? And trash Rian all day long, but the real villain here is Kathleen The Force is Female Kennedy. It was HER decision to lie outright to Lucas, and flush the original characters right down the drain. Luke was too legendary for her to deal with, outshined the sequel SW characters while he , Leia and Han were still alive.

This is a great moment for the fans, but it means little if going forward, the SW canon still ends up with Luke turning into Jake, and drinking the blue milk. My 2 cents.

I see we have a soyboy Rian fan amongst us. Thanks for the down vote, loser.

I think there may have been a subtle musical hint a few episodes ago, but sometimes they like to use music for similar theming and not just foreshadowing so it wasn’t 100% obvious.

Lol I just watched it again and cried even more. The last 25 min are just so fricking beautiful in so many ways. I don’t want to let this thread die either.

Loved the episode for lol the same reasons as everyone here. Seeing Master Luke at his most powerful has been missing for a long time.

I know the technology limits what could be done but I needed more dialogue from Luke. I thought this episode needed 15 more minutes of closure.

Not a dig but damn...it was over too fast.

I know a lot of people want to leave the Skywalkers behind but I think there’s like a 5-6 year mystery period with Luke that I would love to see explored. Full power Luke would make a hell of a show if done right.

I was thinking we might see that now. There is 25 years between now in the Mandalorian and The Force Awakens. In the EU most of that time for Luke was creating a new Jedi Temple and stories that followed his kid and the Solo kids. Some has already been mentioned in the sequels and with 25 years to work with along with the show runners for the Mandalorian it could be one hell of a show.

The problem is the sequels ruined what would eventually happen.

True but they make us forgot them as well

Either way though I could see Disney going in the direction of more series like this. We have the Book of Boba now coming out next year. In 2022 is the short series of Obi I believe. So many great character with stories that could be told. I expect Ahoska to get one and would not be surprised to see a mini at least with Vader as well as Darth Maul and Thrawn.

Treat them like...

Sequels? What sequels? I remember some Star Wars parody movies... but no true sequels...

So it was the voice of Mark, and deep faked by another actor. That's good to hear, at least.

Just watched it again and I missed something the first time. Was Moff Gideon going to commit suicide and Cara stopped him?

Yes,the republic wanted him alive for questioning / interrogation I assume in a time of unrest and cusp of galactic war.
