You can't expect a person from Alabama to follow a movie that doesn't have big explosions and boobies.
O.P.-Never give your opinion about movies in public, ever.

Seems like you were blinded by your irrational hatred for Christian Bale. This is one of the best acting performances I've seen by one of the best actors of our generation. Not only did he get skinny (123 lbs to be exact), but he delivered an emotional performance that pulled the audience in. His delusions were well thought out and fit into his character well. True, the movie didn't have a sweeping plot that many movies have. That's because it focused on the one character and his development, his stagnation, and finally his salvation. Each character played a part, but only insofar as the development of the main character.
The fact that you believe "nothing happened" is beyond me. A man went from a person so self-deluded that he literally hadn't slept in a year to a man who came to grips with his past and his reality. The motifs and symbolism in this film, though often heavy handed, were fairly well done and well placed, and, at the end of it, the audience (should have) walked away with something to think about.
"Yeah, but it was boring"

He's the "smart one" of his particular group of mouth-breathers

I thought it was great, but it's not a movie that I would watch more than a couple of times.

I've literally had a copy my friend gave me like 5 years ago on my desk this whole time and have never watched it.

*SPOILERS*
i didn't really like this movie b/c i'm sick of "split personality" movies where there is a big reveal at the end where you find out the "bad guy" was really the protagonist. they're just not original and aren't usually that great and build towards a reveal we've seen 10 times before

Not too bright, are you?

Definitely not a piece of crap.
It's not something I'm going to just pop in the dvd player over and over, but I thought it was good.

great movie. Very dark mood.

It's not a bad movie, but it's fairly predictable. It's a poor man's Hitchcock film.

i thought it sucked too.

You're doing nothing to change my opinion of you.

one day somebody needs to do a reverse split personality movie where during the movie the guy thinks the antagonist is just a part of his mind and then it's revealed that the bad guy is real

Identity and Frailty are two that did this really well IMO.
