Fight Club owned my arse on the reveal.
But to answer the OP. I loved the shite out of The Machinist, and I am not a huge Bale fan.
SPOILERS
To SFP, this wasn't a split personality story. He hallucinated that dude. It was a false life story similar to Jacob's Ladder, with a little but of displaced identities.
Except The Machinist's detachment was based on extreme guilt

I'm not. I own Crank. It's hilarious in its absurdity. It is just not a thinking man's movie. It's an adrenaline filled (...) action movie that you can brainlessly watch and be entertained by. Explosions and Jason Statham kicks the shite out of people = I'm entertained. Hell, I even liked the Mechanic.
