No online squabbling and / or child-like behavior.
Serious inquires only.

I am half drunk from the football game a few minutes ago but 65-75 percent change convinced that the bearded advisor to the Queen of the Island Kingdom is actually Sauron.
Sauron may have been who the Queen was talking to last week when she was in her chambers by herself..

I thought that this episode was solid because I'm all in, but for people who are casual watchers Episode 4 was probably a snooze fest and didn't build much momentum for the show overall.
Halfway through this season and they probably need to pick up the pace. If I wasn't a Tolkien fan I would be pretty underwhelmed.

the writing and dialogue for this show is absolute dog shite. it feels like an AI bot wrote it instead of an actual person.
i really hope amazon doesn't adapt anymore fantasy classics. they already destroyed/tarnished the beloved wheel of time and are now doing the same to Tolkien's hard work.
shame on anyone supporting this crap.

I haven't read the books, so I don't come into this with a preconceived standard against which to judge the show.
Galadriel seems childish, impudent and impulsive. It was my understanding that elves are the opposite of that: measured, respectful, and contemplative. But again I've only seen LoTR movies so I could be wrong.
Some of the scenes are just implausible and that pulls me away from the immersion I want. Galadriel trapping several guards in a jail cell like she was herding baby sheep. The boy avoiding all the orc/goblins while being in the light on the side of the barn and literally facing the direction where all of them are. The queen being so staunchly against helping the entire episode but changes her mind in 3 seconds when she sees some leaves falling. The whole scene with the crowd barker saying elves will take your jobs...all because of a single castaway is in the city. It's like the writers have scenes they want to create tension so they can resolve them, but don't care that the tension of the plot is nonsensical.
It's not terrible, but it's not great. I'll probably watch the whole series simply because I like the fantasy genre. At least it's not as bad as the disaster that is WoT (which I have read, so maybe I'm more harsh than I should be).

Really good episode.
I guess what the old man said about the falling meteor might be true soon enough time will tell.

I don't know what's worse...
Galadriel's petulance
orcs that speak/sound like men instead of.....ya know orcs
black dwarfs/hobbits with irish accents
also, are we supposed to just shrug off that black lady having a white father with no explanation. adopted? black mother?

It seems this one is at least starting to connect the dots but still seems clunky.

Tried to finish it last night but was too tired.
Non important note, Galadriel is actually pretty hot imo.

Elves do not age, they only die if they get killed. They don't even get sick. And in a one-on-one fight, even the least of them would probably be favored over a champion from another race.
For a practical perspective, it makes some sense that they start out pretty full of themselves, confident and even arrogant in their ways.
The Galadriel you see in LOTR is thousands of years older than this one, and will have been through a whole lot more. This series, she is getting pumped up to chase and fight Sauron. The LOTR version, several thousand years later, is defending her realm and trying to find a way to stop... Sauron. And that one also understands that if they do, it will only save the world for Men, not for the Elves.
That's gotta take a lot of the piss and vinegar out of someone.

I’ve watched the first 3, not too enthusiastic about it but really trying to give it a chance
However I saw a webm of a scene supposedly from this 4th episode with subtitles of an angry mob of Numenorians having a “they took r jerbs!” moment over the elvish influence. Please tell me that bullshite is not real.

Tolkien describes her as proudful a lot early on.
She’s also completely right which is also lore correct.
So proudful, and correct is going to yield some bitchy behavior, but Sauron is out there. She’s the only one who seems to give a shite.

I’ve liked the series so far but i’ve found episode 4 to be the weakest.
Sauron came to power by deceiving everyone. I have no clue how he’s gonna do that when everyone in this world already thinks he’s completely evil. That’s my only complaint so far

He doesn’t come as Sauron. He disguises himself

I hate how the show acts like everyone thinks he’s dead when in reality everyone knows he was still alive but just thought he was done causing trouble. Nobody was really scared of him at this point, just thought he wasn’t a problem
