Yeah would be nice if the person in charge of the witcher stuck to the games/books like craig is doin with the last of us. Of course it helps that he actually played and enjoyed the game and respects the guy who made them.

Way too early to say that they are (not that I even know the source ). I mean they might and this may end up being one of the best shows of all time for all I know. But sticking to source material over multiple seasons is when it gets difficult. How many times has a show stuck to source pretty well early on and then went off the rails as the seasons go on? Pretty often.

At least with this show it shouldn’t be a ton of seasons, season one will likely cover all of the first game. There’s speculation that the second game will likely be split into two different seasons and should there be a third we can expect one to two seasons. So like four to five seasons total which isn’t a high amount

In my opinion the first game is better suited to be more than 1 season even though the second game is much longer. Not any spoilers here obviously but the 1st game has clear narrative arcs across seasons and has space to expand the story in ways less likely to piss people off. Part 2 is as I said longer but much of it just happens at the same time as the rest of it in a way that absolutely won’t work for tv and will need to be overhauled.

One could argue that TLOU2 could have been split into two games. With the second act being part 2, and first act being part 3 with the culmination being what made everyone upset about TLOU2 to begin with.

Really struggled to word that in a way that wasn't filled with spoilers, so hopefully you picked up what I was putting down

on the podcast for episode 1 Craig and Neil seemed pretty committed to staying as close to the game story as possible and just expanding it and adapting it for the different medium

I didn't read the first part of your post because I could tell the direction it was heading. Just don't post it if it's hard to find a way to post it without spoilers

I saw "Uncharted" in my feed and watched it because I kind of like Tom Holland. Had no idea it was based upon a game, but it was a fun little film.

You are correct. TLOU is in a different quantum.

Why'd the 2 chicks in the hallway give the girl away so fast? Were they dying from their wounds? I know one of them said she was bleeding out, but I may have been drifting and missed it.

Marlene and the other chick (don't remember her name, let's call her Forgettable Diverse Female Character #1) had planned on buying the battery from Robert and transporting Ellie in a truck with a crew of soldiers.

Robert tried to sell them a dead battery, fire fight ensues, killing Robert and his crew, plus everyone in Marlene's crew except for Marlene, Ellie, and Forgettable Diverse Female Character #1.

They are wounded, but Joel and Tess are healthy, and they're experienced smugglers.

Thanks Vol. I figured I missed it cause she said how many times the girl was so important, but yeah, take her. Just seemed fast.

Yep that’s what I got out of it. They need to get Ellie out of there and with their wounds, dead crew, and no truck, chances are much better with Joel and Tess

Just finished EP1....

Wow, that was fricking fantastic television. I never played the video game so I don't shite about the show and was worried it was gonna be another zombie show. Man was I wrong. I'm ALL IN on this mother fricker!

And +1 to the poster who called out the assclowns who shite on every thread with their political bullshite. I wish to god there was an ignore feature on this site, because if I could just ignore about 15 posters I would enjoy this site about 5 times more than I currently do.

I think the problem with Part II was ultimately pacing and structure, I feel like that can be resolved with splitting it into two seasons. The first game is a pretty straight forward story and isn’t nearly as complex as Part II

Just want to add that I loved the opening scene with the two scientists. That was a brilliant scene, and a great way to start the show.

Same intro as I Am Legend IMO

Made it to the 5th page of this thread before tapping out because of all of the bullshite, childish whining and bitching amongst one another. Great job, guys.

I am aware of the video game, but I don't play video games, and I knew nothing about the video game going in. I enjoyed the first episode. I like the idea of a fungus pandemic. The acting/characters are solid. Can't wait until they get out west.

Can someone walk through what happened at the end? She tests positive but then shows what appears to be an old bite mark on her arm? And then says something to the effect of "it's old, I would have turned by now"? I feel like I'm missing something.
