It’s not my favorite either. It’s good of course. Nothing wrong with it. Very well made and all. Just not my thing. I don’t care for the subject matter.

Normally I'm big on the principle that everyone is entitled to their opinion on such things because taste is a very personal thing. So your opinion of the Godfather is both acceptable and completely wrong in ways that can only be replicated by an underground British fetish whorehouse. I apologize for pointing this out and may God have mercy on your unworthy soul.

See, now, this is a legitimate critique and didn't deserve a downvote. We all have subject matters that don't appeal to us. I'm not going to be watching any of the 50 Shades of Grey movies, or the Transformers movies, because, taste aside, I have no interest in the subject matter. Perfectly reasonable attitude to have. I wouldn't even say you shouldn't have watched it if you knew the subject matter doesn't appeal to you because, well, it's a legendary movie and everyone should watch just to see what all the talk is about.

This whole scene is cringe-worthy as far as acting goes. There are a couple scenes like this, but what would you expect from a 70’s film?

That being said, I love The Godfather.

Thanks, man. I don’t think I deserved the downvote either.

I finally sat down and watched it. It was not as good as advertised.

The acting was atrocious and the story was told very choppy

I'm not a big fan of that genre but even I recognize the high quality of the acting.

And she’s a girl.

I stand by my original statement. You have failed as a man...

I tried to watch it for the first time a few weeks ago and it was so boring that I don't remember anything after the first 45 minutes, and that was still the never-ending opening wedding scene

Choppy is not an adverb. Just sayin'.

It doesn't sound like you were born a masculine child.

There are others, Rocky 1, for example. But I agree with your assessment of The Godfather.

I’m not a huge fan either. I found the plot line extremely linear.
1. Wedding scene
2. Mob boss assassinted
3. Son takes over
4. Scatter some typical mob violence here and there
5. The End.
It was an ok movie but I don’t get the “one of the best ever” stuff.
