Graphic sexual violence. This movie isn't date material.

what kind of disturbing? this determines whether i take a date

How did the Harriet solving change? I've read the book, so I'm not worried about spoilers

Harriet is actually found in London after the death of Martin. If I remember in the book she is found in Australia...
Also, the ending with Lisbeth is a bit different from the swedish film & the book.

I definitely want to see it but I'm torn between watching the Swedish version before or after the new one.

Gotcha, thanks - that's no big deal then - I was afraid they were going to change up the whole way he solves the mystery or something.
I'm going to see it next week, then watch the Swedish version. Almost finished with the 2nd book so I'll watch that Swedish version after. Fortunately all 3 are on Netflix streaming

quote:Yeah, they stayed very close to the actual novel with this film. Which is refreshing imo

WHY DID THEY DO THIS?!?!?! It creates a major plot hole. She says that she pretended to be Anita, and moves to London. Then Anita died in a car crash and she assumed Anita's identity. How did the news that Anita died in a car crash not get back to the Vangers? This seems like something any private detective would have figured out pretty easily. I dont know why they couldnt have just left it the way it was in the book.

I watched it yesterday.
Pros:
I thought overall it was a much better movie than the original and it followed the book closer. It described Lisbeth's personality more in depth and brought up Mikael and Berger's relationship. Acting was fantastic and I expect to see many nominations.
Cons:
Long. Some accents were bad. W/O any spoilers- the ending felt like they just gave up due to time restraints. It left you with a bad taste for the next two.

Shes gonna win an Oscar. Pretty sexy too, not so much in that movie, but IRL.

saw this last night and thought it was great...those couple scenes were hard to watch but were justified perfectly
they had a couple that brought their 5 yr old to see it with them
it was a little drawn out towards the end that's my only beef...oh and it really made me want to bang a punk/emo/gothic chick

She was even pretty hot in the Social Network I though - not sure what else she's done.
I know she gets raped in the book - any T&A in the movie?

Never seen it. She was in Shooter.
I wish my grandparents owned the Steelers and Giants. Well not the Steelers I guess.

Saw it last night. Wow, she looks nothing like the pictures posted above. I thought it was a very good movie, however I haven't read any of the books or seen the original version. I'll probably pick up my wife's copies of the books and read them sometime early 2012.

They're very good. There was only one real big difference in the books.

damn then it is..neat fact
quick question on the novels...is daniel craig's character blomkvist (sp?) in the rest of them or is he only in the first one..the ending to the movie left me wondering this

Hes in all of them. The next two are more about Lisbeth's back story, but he is the main character.
