Also, no matter how many times I hear it, I cannot accept that Mrs. Russell’s first name is Bertha.
IKR! We have Bertha, Agnes, and Gladys.

Jack better be moving on up soon. Hopefully he doesn’t deposit it in a bank that is soon to fail. I can’t wait to see Agnes’ reaction to how rich he is now.
My prediction is he refuses to sell the patent and tries to make his own clocks.
Also the Duke of Buckingham about to lay some pipe.

I think he sells it but he's going to end up using that money to bail someone out at some point. I have a sneaky suspicion Oscar is going to frick things up again for the Van Ryan's, he seems to have rebounded a little too well.

He gonna get his heir and a spare, but that's about all that guy is interested in.
His sister is going to be an absolute piece of work. I'm curious if we potentially see some Downton Abbey overlap with characters while she's in London. Could be a cool Easter Egg.

How though? It's a done deal from what it looks like.
I've been nagged for a while at who I kept hearing in Carrie Coon's voice until today.
I heard Sweet Dreams come on Sirius today and her voice is VERY close to Annie Lennox.

That’s my thought as well.

Damn her voice does sound like her.

It's crazy as hell. Once you hear it, you can't unhear it.

So, looks like Mrs. Russell’s machinations are coming home to roost. I might’ve gotten a solid Pearl clutch when Mr. Russell said “And don’t expect me to be here when you get home”. Good for him.
If Larry going to the Haymarket (the Moulin Rouge of NY BTW) ends the engagement I’m going to be pissed.
That said, I cannot wait to see Mrs. Russell put that count of a sister of Buckingham in her place. Thats going to be fun to watch. Still hoping for a potential Downton tie in there too.

That is interesting. What was her maiden name? Was she born into money?

I said that as well. She's ruthless and will not put up with that bitch.

Smith (Father was Murray Forbes Smith). He was a commission merchant (cotton) and they did have money off and on (Alva spent summers in Newport and at one point they lived outside of Paris). They didn’t have Vanderbilt money but enough to be respectable.

I kept saying that the whole episode. No way either parent didn't write something into a contract for exactly this kind of thing.
The Duke is pussy whipped by his own cousin, but he's at least sensitive to her unhappiness and is trying to defend her.
Bertha is gonna wreck that bitch up.

Something is going to happen. He and Marian's courtship and engagement went along too smoothly for the drama this show likes to inject.
My wife speculated he may be killed or die while away on his father's business, further destroying the family.
This may also allow Jack to back out of the clock deal.
Does the show go all the way and give a Russell divorce? I doubt it.
Sure would be nice if HBO would announce they've picked up a fourth season.

I’m the opposite. Alva Vanderbilt divorced but married a Belmont (still in society). I could see this happening here.

Maybe. Fellowes isn't afraid to kill folks off but in Downton he wouldn’t have killed Matthew if the actor didn’t want out of the show. I’d be surprised if he did it again.
Now, do I think Jack could come across someone else he’d rather be with? Maybe.

That's true. I had forgotten that detail.

Same on all points. I am ready for the announcement that there will be a season 4. Even with another movie I did not get enough Downton.

Talk about shooting a career in the foot.
Guy has been nowhere and while most of the other cast haven’t been major players either they at least got several other seasons plus a couple movies out of it.
