If this thread (last few pages) are any indication of what opening night will be like I'm gonna wait a few weeks to check out the movie

Yea can we please stop talking about the books and get back to discussing how badass Kylo Ren is?

Boy you idiots sure know how to kill a thread. This is about the new movie and the possibilities going forward and you guys can't let go of some old rotten BS from 15 yrs. Ago. Let's focus on how awesome this new sequel appears to be.

yes please, this thread has been destroyed by Vader's (man, has that awesome username been wasted) incessant pimping of books no one gives a frick about and they are not even canon.
I wish we could have had a shot of Supreme Leader Snoke. I know nothing about him but it is Andy Serkis so you know its going to be amazing.

you always claim to have read plotlines from the new movie...where would one go if they were interested in reading those?

Yeah, it's where I got the idea, but I started thinking about it and it's the only thing it really could be and that makes sense. Plus Avatar: The Last Airbender really is the animated version of Star Wars that actually pulls off the trilogy perfectly. Why wouldn't they continue to follow the same formula in their respected sequels?

This explains a lot about you. You are a dork. Go get some blood drawn and get tested.

Actually I think your problem comes from the fact you've got your own stupid notion how the story should have gone and you're pissed off they didn't write the story the same way you would have. So not only are you stupid, you're also narcissistic and suffer from delusions of grandeur by thinking you're some sort of writer.
You've got a point there. OM does this for a lot of movies. As well as the constant double posting without anyone answering and posts where he makes the same point over and over again. I agree with him a lot, but man, he sure does want to make everyone think he knows more about movies than anyone else.

r/starwarsleaks has a thread with a full 60 page PDF of organized spoilers.

It will be interesting to see how things are spun. It's been pretty well established that Ren is not a Sith. However I think deep down we all want the Sith to return.

And the last horse crosses the finish line.
It's not the fricking 50s anymore as you wrongly believe to where being a nerd is necessarily a bad thing anymore.

JJ Abrams has already confirmed that kyle Ren is not a sith and in fact that isn't his real name...but a title. He is part if the Knights of Ren which we don't know much about at this point.

Apologies if this has been discussed already since I'm avoiding this thread for spoiler reasons, but I find it interesting that if there has been a lot of time between ep 6 and this one, enough to where people forgot about what happened, that the X-wings still pretty much look the same. The Tie Fighters had a new look to them.

I felt like jumping through the screen and asking him what kind of fricked up childhood he had if he considers the way he's been treating his protégé love and if he could ever believe Anakin was a brother to him.
Your criticisms of the prequels have been very fair, however I feel like Obi Wan was not made to be the a-hole to Anakin that you believe he is.
Even in the original trilogy, a theme among the Jedi is that their pupils are often hardheaded and disobedient, requiring the masters to be tough on them. When Yoda tells Luke on Dagobah that he is reckless, Obi Wan jumps in to remind him that he was too during his training. Really, during the entire time of Luke's training, Yoda is a pretty big dick to him. You have to assume that Mace Windu was also tough on his pupils, as he is the baddest of them all. As the pupils discover the Force, we assume that they'll want to spread their wings a bit, but it's the master's job to keep them in check.
Anakin in Episode II and III was a cocky and overconfident a-hole, and Obi Wan always had to check him. Anakin blatantly ignored Obi Wan and got worked by Dooku, leaving Obi Wan to fight him himself. When Anakin thought he was deserving of being named a master, Obi Wan had to remind him that he wasn't ready, but it wouldn't be long.
The Obi Wan in Episode III is different than Episode II. Anakin has matured and I think Obi Wan feels accomplished for helping Anakin grow powerful, but to me, he also seemed very fair and caring for Anakin. One of the things I think the prequels got right was how Obi Wan felt about Anakin. He had to be tough sometimes, but he deeply cared for Anakin.

Well, you're kind of making my point: the details lie in the subtleties. Yes, Obi Wan is self noted as being reckless, but was he ever shown as being such? He was simply a wet towel who lectured both his mentor and apprentice on everything. The fact is Obi Wan should have been Anakin's friend first and mentor second. Obi Wan's recklessness with Anakin's training should have been a major reason for his turning to the dark side. He should have ignored any signs that Anakin was power hungry and wanted more than the life of an ordinary Jedi. This also accounts for Owen's open bitterness of Obi Wan. By the time Obi Wan is forced to accept it, it is far too late and Anakin has turned to the dark side.
