This is a really interesting story that I've always wanted to see as a movie. Hopefully they do it justice.

I believe it had some screenings a couple years ago and people seemed to hate it. Then the Weinstein stuff happened so the movie never made it to wide release. I'm not sure if it had been re-edited or re-shot, but I do believe it is a little bit different in some way from the earlier version.

Looks like complete trash judging from the trailer. That was some of the worst dialogue I've ever heard in a 3 minute clip.

I've heard that they were forced to go back and re-edit some pieces. If you compare this trailer to the older one, I feel like they added more Tesla to make him more of a featured part of the movie.

Poor way to judge a movie’s quality. Critics are clearly out of touch as has been evidenced numerous times in recent years.

Audience score is a better indicator

As long as they are honest in their characterizations, this could be great. It's an important story. Edison sabotaged history's greatest inventor, and I fear the American hero effect may keep this from being honest. Then again it could go the opposite route and paint Edison as a pure villain, which would be an exaggeration.

Regardless, I am highly anticipating this.

Huh? Most younger generations believe Tesla was a genius and Edison was the one who stole his inventions.

Where have you been? Pop culture is very anti-American these days.

My first instinct for this movie will be they treat Edison as a greedy American with no ideas and Tesla as a poor foreign victim.

Audience score says latest Godzilla is not a massive piece of incompetent trash. Don't trust won't trust.

This also probably sucks. Very few movies shelved for multiple years end up being very good. They do exist, but they are rare.

I don’t know but I actually thought that was a great trailer. I’d like to see this.

Not playing locally.
After I posted I saw it bombed out.

I didn't know Harvey Weinstein produced it.

I've read all the books and stories about the war between Edison and Tesla. Bottom line is that Edison was ruthless and Tesla was a savant who (maybe) let Westinghouse get the best of him because he simply didn't understand that part of the business.

Would imagine they'll make a big deal out of Edison electrifying the poor elephant, and they should. Edison is not in any way a sympathetic character imho. He was a complete and total bastard.
