I get this show loves to be vulgar for the sake of being vulgar, but at a point it gets to be too much
Yeah, they did both the Batman and Spiderman knockoffs dirty. It’s a little strange they project all the deviancy in their alt right fantasy stories when you literally have real world stuff from the left playing out in the streets and the White House lawn. All the conspiracy stuff was at least over the target. This was not entertaining to watch, and it’s hard to understand as social commentary about the MAGA crowd.

Zendaya. It was Zendaya.

I don't know why we had to watch Hughie get his cherry popped for half the show. The BDSM fantasy seemed like a weird out of place kink projection. Plus why did they have to go and try and ruin Zendaya for me? That was uncalled for.

This is also where I'm at with this show. Early on, the political and social commentary came with the world we were watching and was mostly clever. It didn't drive the plot which was The Boys going after Vought and the Supes. Now we have Starlights abortion and internment camps being plot devices while every conversation has to have some type of current event political dialogue thrown in. Its just not smart anymore.
Not to mention like most other posters I care nothing for Frenchies meltdown of guilt and MM's home and health problems. Just give me Butcher and the Boys going after supes while Homelander does crazy shite. I did think Simon Pegg did a great job in his last episode though.

Agreed. As others have already said, the political satire used to be clever and well placed here and there. But now all this show is is a big political commentary about how the right is evil, and the actual plot of the show of the Boys vs Vought/supes has taken a bask seat. I was going to give the show to the end of the season, but I think I'm out now. This show used to be fun, but now it's just a chore to make it through an episode.

It's getting pretty boring. The highlight tonight was the gimp waiving goodbye as the elevator doors closed.

I’m not someone that lets politics decide what I watch, but I also don’t want my entertainment focused on politics. The great part of the show was that a little went a long way. Now, they have turned the show into politics and gross out humor. I always enjoyed the raunchiness of the show, but it seems like they are using it as a crutch now.
I liked the episode 5, but the last episode really didn’t move the story at all. I’m not giving up on the series but I’m not looking forward to each new episode like I used to.

WebWeaver is a parody of Spider-Man. Spider-Man is played by Tom Holland. Tom Holland is dating Zendaya.

Based on the comments it looks like I made the correct choice to bail after the 2nd episode

Because it was about the elites, the richest of the rich, not the MAGA crowd. Homelander's alt-rght, woke mob shtick didn't play. The progressive politician's rant about true power did.

If JDM is a figment of Butchers imagination, where did Butcher get the drugs to make the cookies for Ryan?
They didn’t explain that.

I guess I can see that, but Tek Knight getting killed by his black butler after goading Atrain about his slave catcher ancestry sure seems to put him in the racist dickhead category. I guess technically his ancestors would have all been Southern Democrats, so maybe that was the joke and it went right over my head. Either way, that scene went places I didn’t need to go as a viewer.

Yeah, I got the dumb joke the first time, chief, but thanks for looking out.

Maybe he imagined everything including the drugs. So there weren’t any drugs in the cookies anyway. He was pouring alcohol into a cup that didn’t exist at an empty table. Wouldn’t be far fetched that he put imaginary drugs in the cookies.

I hate that Joe wasn't real. Hopefully he makes a comeback later on. I love that actor. He was very "Negan" like at times.
this show has basically gone off the rails between the political shite and the BDSM nonsense.
hey everyone, come to my party.
you guys just talk amongst yourselves while i go torture this guy and make him sit on a cake and let this chick tickle him while she rubs one out.
the butcher part and the brain damage part were the only two good parts.

Pretty much.
Even the comics knew that once things got serious to stop with so much of the sex and focus more on the evil actions of Homelander.

Yeah farting on cakes is where I think I draw the line lol. Was not a fan of the bizarre sex themed episode. Even homelander got in on it lol.

If they did that, the people in this thread who somehow just realized this blatantly political show is indeed political would be complaining about that even more.
