Finally finished this. Fantastic season, excellently done.

“frick Fresca“ had me rolling. Deep’s Collective persona was hilarious, disappointed to see it go. Like SJW Cartman in South Park

And AURaptor is an idiot. Yes there was some MAGA shade at some points. But they made it clear that Stormfront was a literal Nazi. That’s not offensive to anyone. And Neumann being the head splatter and looking and feeling just like AOC is perfectly balancing the spectrum, if not pushing it to more poking fun at the left

Or how stormfront is bulletproof but her eyeball can be stabbed out?

Also the Boys, et al., know the Supes or at least some of them are bulletproof yet they constantly engage them with guns, excepting what? So they HAVE RPGs that time, except they’re in the car. Wouldn’t you have the RPG as your primary weapon if you know guns are mostly useless?
Even in the suspension-of-disbelief required for this show, I found many aspects of it (second season especially) to be not credible. Character choices, convenient occurrences, supe traits, etc. Best part of the show is the Boys’ evolution as a group.

Because they haven't waged a full-scale war against non-Communist regimes... yet. Thus far we've had Cold and Soft wars but never the aggression and scale we saw from Germany and Japan.

Hmm. Communism is much more insidious than Nazism. There have been numerous wars involving dozens of counties that were essentially communist vs. non-communist in nature, however because of the nature of communist spread they are often referred to as conflicts or civil wars. The Vietnam and Korean wars were certainly wars over communism and of pretty significant scale.

I think the main reason that communists are ignored as villain archetype is, as you and others reference, that communism is still a present and ever-growing power globally and even domestically.

Yes, some of it is just the classic superhero/superpower problem, (if Superman can beat everyone then why would anyone even try?) and the vague limitations of being super strong or tough.

Relatedly, there's an explanation for why Superman can fly. There's on explanation for Homelander except for Compound V, which doesn't make any sense.

So I’ve known about this show for a while. But we’ve finally binged it the last couple of weeks.

It is a good show. As people have already stated, there’s a lot of suspension of disbelief involved.

I like that they clearly have a season plan and stick with it. I don’t remember any filler or red herrings being thrown in just to make 8 episodes.

The team is phenomenal. I loved this show.

Just finished the season. Holy cow.

1. One of the things I love the most about this show is that they make fun of everything and everyone in really smart and insidious ways. (For all the butthurt maga folks did you not notice that neuman was ultimately behind everything?)

2. Stormfront is super hot and I have a weird thing for her now.

3. Speaking of which, 34 pages and not one mention of gecko wearing an eye patch when he gives starlight the V and then stormfront getting knifed in the eye? Yeah, she's healing in that secure facility. With that fancy new cream they've been testing on poor gecko.

4. Homelander. Geez. I LOVE his character. Mostly because I relate to the issues a shite childhood leave behind.

5. Lots of great lines mentioned, my fave? When talking about black noir's injury, and saying he might have brain damage homelander saying, "great, so about the same" with such disdain and acceptance. Like, yeah my buddy is probably fricked up but will I even notice? Just add it to the fricking list I guess.

6. 'tit homelanders face plant from the roof. Deepest belly laugh. If you have children (multiple) you get this.

7. The theory of maeve being around during the early days? I MUST HAVE IT. she was tired but then hears about a Nazi? Goes straight Woltz International on stormfront!

8. Don't be a count.

Amazing!

Just binged both seasons of this show. The first season was amazing. Just kept building and building. The 2nd season was pretty good, but I think season one was better. Two took a lot longer to get going. And had a lot of side plots. The ending was good though. I'll be looking forward to season three.

I knew the wife/mom was going to die. It was pretty cool to see the kid destroy stormfront like that.

This bump has me pumped for season 3, thanks

It looks like Storefront "is still alive and horribly mutilated" there will be a "herogasm" scene. Super pumped
