Oh, SPOILERS (because I'm going to speculate on stuff in detail):

FWIW, no one here has any issues with spoilers from the actual episodes and legitimate convo on that. You're safe on that.

So Congresswoman Neuman is the headpopper. I guess Vaught has more than the Seven, and she's the ultimate safeguard. OR, is she? Her eyes clouded over, that wasn't happening in the hearing and she was there.
Do we have a psychic (a Jean Grey analogue) instead? I doubt it, but it's possible, I guess.
But it did clean up the Church mess. They overstepped, and that was that. My guess is Vaught wasn't pleased with them keeping an archive.

My first question with her is she actually working with Vought? I don't think she is. But it's hard to figure out where her agenda lies. Is she trying to build her own army that eliminates other supes so that she's the one with ultimate power in the end? If she trying to get her hands on what Vought has? I could see her being someone playing all sides to garner as much power as possible as well (given her convo with the head of the Church).

Homelander was doing it in a controlled way wanting to not hurt her. Ryan was completely uncontrolled and hit her with the rage of 1000 suns. My question wasn’t how he burned Stormfront, but how Butcher and Rebecca didn’t get some level of collateral burning being that close to such an intense energy blast.

Probably because Homelander can control his powers, while Ryan doesn't know the depth of them yet

What a fricking season finale!!!

Stormfront's arse getting kicked was so damned satisfying.

Homelander is losing his shite. I thought the wanking scene was a bit out of character though. I would have liked to see him doing some other fricked-up shite to compensate, like laser-beaming elephants in half or some shite.

Neuman being the head-popper... did not see that coming. She's playing some game of her own. I think she's working to take down Vought and any other supers-involved group so she can set herself up as their leader.

I thought it was interesting that Stormfronts arms were burnt but Becca didn’t seem to have any burns. Did storm front stab her with the knife before being burned?

Also keep in mind her body was pretty badly hurt from Maeve, Starlight and The Asian monkey stomping her for a good while. Just like a boxer having gone 12 rounds, her body wasn't up for taking nearly as much punishment as if she hadn't been beaten to a pulp.

Victoria is out for herself. Some of her plans may benefit Vought but she’s in it to win it.

Btw, I’m not the only one who caught the line Edgar threw at the CotC guy insinuating that he was a relative of Vought, right? I don’t feel like that’s being talking about enough.

And poor Deep. He had to skip on his own Gianna Michaels bae for some crazy Karen who sucks (at sucking?), drunk up all the Fresca, and he still didn’t get what he wants.

Great season!

Maeve can't fly, can she? How does she keep just showing up places?

I think Neuman is working deep cover for Vaught. Outside of the Seven, a different project.
Keeping tabs on the government, etc. Perfectly placed to be aware of everything. Remember it was a CIA agent getting too close that got popped first.
Used her to flush out the real threats, as we saw in the hearing. It was her pet project, so she got to see everyone who was a threat. She then removed the damaging witnesses, and oh BTW Shockwave just as cover. Finished it off taking the Church dude down.

That's their connection and how they had all that info and influence, and Edgar decided it was time to clean it up. As he said, just business, and that was a "partner" that got too sloppy.

I get the feeling the old lady, Billy's boss, is destined for a headache. They let her poke around because she keeps it nice and organized (to keep tabs on), but now with the kid, bad news.

2nd time Kimiko has gotten killed, BN did it the first time and Stormfront snapped her neck. I wonder if she can revive from a head popping experience?

Maeve... how old is she, really? I mean, she called Stormfront a Kraut, does anyone really use that word anymore? And she's burnt out, ala Captain America... I just kinda wonder about that. Could she be similar to Stormfront, a carry-over from the early days? She probably didn't KNOW Stormfront, in the same way Steve Rogers didn't know about Red Skull until they met. But once the Nazi thing came out, she sure did change her position on helping.
Anyone else key in on that?

In the comics, they don't specify, but if you even start to look your age while on Compound V, you're pretty on up there.

On a side note, one thing I love is how much it stays with the tone of the comic but is so divergent all the same. Asking a person who's read the comic "What's going to happen next?" is going to illicit a very loud, "No fricking idea, mate."

Maybe she has an invisible jet like WW?

Honestly I’m curious too. Also how does know exactly where they are in both situations? Homelander has super human hearing. Stormfront can fly and can get an aerial view? But she managed to figure out exactly Butcher and the kid where in the woods probably seconds before Homelander would’ve fried him.

biggest disappointment with Starlight is that she didn't absorb the energy from Stormfront and send back a powerful blast.

I really don’t have any complaints about it, I enjoyed it, but I kinda wish there was more of a build up for whatever takes place next season. The main lead up was that Neuman was the head popping chick and that Homelander has officially gone off the deep end. Yawn. What really is there to look forward to?

For Homelander to so easily just laser anyone he despises in half he sure the hell likes to keep Butcher around. Killing Butcher and the Boys would end all of his problems, right?

Also this show hates Black Noire for whatever reason. Was hoping to see more of him on the season finale but nope.

Part of me was also hoping Butcher would’ve killed that kid after Becca had died. It looked like he was going to with his facial reactions before Homelander showed up. I also think the kid is a bad child actor

Poor Deep can’t catch a break lol

Homelander cares more about being essentially worshipped by the general public. Maeve said she would realize the video. He probably could’ve lasered her before that but ok.

i was waiting for that too. Starlights powers kind of suck. Is she like Jubilee in that her powers are kind of lame? and where did she draw her power in the field to fight stormfront.

They'd been building that up. Season 1 I never knew she needed outside power; this season it's a teaser when she dims the lights, and comes into play both with cauterizing Huey and escaping her cell. Was sure that was leading to her using Stormfront's blasts against her, or maybe dampening her.

If Neuman works for Vaught like some of us assume, the happy ending doesn't last long.
They want the kid back, she's getting intel from the CIA including where he is. And Huey is going to work for her, and trust her with whatever he knows. That all leads to some serious grief for The Boys.

As for the Supes, there's drama everywhere now that the team's back together. Homelander wants to kill The Boys, Starlight and now Maeve, but can't with Maeve's video. He wants the kid back too, separate from Vaught. He might look into the head popping, he's already figured out it was Edgar's doing.
Maeve has Homelander to worry about, as well as Black Noir if/when he wakes up. New alliance with Starlight. She reached out to The Deep, that's set in motion at least.
A-Train is on Homelander's "iffy" list, on whether he can still cut it. He's definitely in a weird situation with Starlight. Deep is pissed off at him. Edgar might want to clean up that Stormfront info drop, too.
Starlight can't trust any of them except Maeve, and Maeve doesn't want that. She's in mutual blackmail with A-Train with shite, both working against the company.
Black Noir... who knows how he's going to react when he wakes up and sees Starlight and Maeve?
The Deep is still whining on the periphery, we laugh at him but I wonder what sort of mayhem he can bring... I think he's going to take someone out just to earn respect. I THOUGHT he manipulated the water at the water park, if so he is more dangerous than we give him credit for. Otherwise, maybe a goofy fish assault on someone.

Kimiko seems like she can't die. She's been legit killed twice now, and pops up in a couple minutes. That's going to come into play at some point, I think... someone is going to off her and turn their back on her, and she gets them.

They've talked about him being the only legit counter to Homelander multiple times. I suspect that's where the show goes in the long run, a show down between Ryan and Homelander. As much as it's currently Butcher vs. Homelander, Butcher is only alive because Homelander has been bought off by others with leverage on him twice.

One of the X-rays for Neuman said she was a dude in the comics so is this show just changing every male character to a female??

Stillwell
Mallory
Stormfront
Neuman

Before this season premiered, they announced the casting of Soldier Boy, so I wonder how much he’ll factor in. Is it just in flashbacks with Stormfront, is it today, mix of both? Did he age?

I really don’t think we’re done with Stormfront. There’s a lot of miles left on those tires.

As for Ryan, my cheesy happy ending idea for the show is for the last scene to be him and a group of other second generation/new heroes forming their own squad with the support of a scaled down SHIELDesque version of Vought, but instead of being the bad apple Superman, he’s legit. But in typical Boys fashion, their version of Brainiac/Doomsday shows up and wrecks it all lol
