All of this
Plus I'll add the micro peen the creator has that not only made Homelander Trump but also took a dig at Musk in the finale
I'm glad this turd is flushed.

It was fine.
Honestly better ending than I thought. It wasn’t great but not awful either.

It definitely wasn’t a great ending, and with how the season was going, I wasn’t really expecting one. But they did what they had to do by killing off Homelander and Butcher, so I guess it could’ve been worse.

I didn't figure on Homelander pulling a MacGruber and offering to suck butcher's dick.
The ending was okay. I didn't love it but I guess it was good enough. They definitely had a lot of unanswered questions.
With so many Supes still out there, there's definitely going to be heroes and villains. So I guess the story goes on

Finished it up last night. I thought it was solid. Nothing great, nothing terrible. Just a solid ending. And at this point I guess that's about all I was expecting or hoping for since my hope level of things being awesome are fatigued.
As usual per The Boys, there were some cool things, and some dumb things.
I was glad it ended up being Butcher that killed HL. That has been his goal for the entire show, so it was good for him to get his moment. I also really laughed at HL trying to use his powers once they were gone...him hopping up and down trying to fly was hilarious.
I thought HL's turn into MacGruber, offering to suck Butcher's dick and eat his shite on live television, happened a little too quickly. I get what they were trying to do there, it just seemed forced. But then again, what in this show isn't forced at this point? At least it got a chuckle out of me I guess. But it seems like they really missed out on having HL just go pure insane and wreck half the country by himself before actually killing him. Huge missed opportunity there IMO.
I liked the fact that Ryan and Butcher didn't walk off into the sunset together and live happily ever after. I thought that was a nice touch since it seems like the obvious ending.
Whatever happened with Butcher's cancer (or whatever)? Was that cured for good once he took the V? I thought that was a pretty major storyline that it was still killing him. Did I miss something?
And again, what am I missing with how they literally turned Kumiko into SB and gave her the chest laser power? Was that ever explained how they intentionally were bale to do that when powers are seemingly so random?
I thought it was dumb that Kumiko punted in the end on killing HL. She doesn't have rage and anger, she's just sad? WTF? If anything, HL is the one who killed Frenchie LIKE 15 HOURS AGO. There's no chance she wouldn't still be a little pissed off about that and be able to use it.
The whole Butcher/Hughie/supe virus thing felt weird and rushed. I guess they had to give Butcher his proper sendoff/death. And I actually didn't hate how it was Hughie and he did it reluctantly because he finally respected Butcher (and how Butcher didn't hold it against him). But that whole thing was done in like 8 minutes and sort of came out of nowhere honestly. It just felt out of place to me. And now you still have the problem of supes still existing and wrecking shite. I mean, the one main psychic dude can pop peoples' heads and is a total a-hole. He's still gonna be a problem. And like they said, with Vought coming back stronger than ever, there will definitely be more Supes who are gonna be a problem too.
I was also not happy about that. Again, I get what they were trying to do with her, but she did not deserve a happy ending really. She is a pretty shitty person. But then again, so is Butcher I guess.
They've been foreshadowing Deep's death for several episodes now with the sharks and fish talking shite to him. So I didn't mind his death. My main thing with that is that I thought he could basically swim like a fish. So when he tried swimming to shore and got killed, he was swimming slower than I can.
Am I misremembering that from early in the show that he could haul arse in the water?
I thought that was dumb as well. It would've worked if he'd have strapped it to his head...that's all it would've taken to fix that scene. But him holding it there was odd...we know the ballgag was strong enough, but MM's arms aren't. Weird. But hey they got another gruesome death with a head exploding I guess.
This one also bothered me. I guess they thought the Boys wouldn't make it out of the tunnel so it didn't matter. And I guess you could argue that their security plan works if Ashley doesn't intervene. But still, don't put a comment into the dialogue about 'ramped up security" then.
I thought the fight was okay. But I do agree about the inconsistency with the lasers. Maybe Butcher and (obviously) Ryan are powerful enough that the lasers are weaker against them. And I guess Kumiko's ramped up powers from their experiments made her stronger? Who knows. But I thought all in all the final fight was okay.
I agree it wasn't as good as the S3 one with Solider Boy though. That was the peak of the show IMO.
Yeah that was odd. What stood out to me is how woke the crew looked just in one-second pictures flashing on the screen. Half of them looked like colored-hair screaming liberals.
It definitely made a lot of things about the show make more sense once you see what the crew looks like.
All in all I loved the show, but am also really glad it's over, if that makes sense. If I ever do a rewatch, it will be a pretty long time from now I think. And spinoffs don't interest me really, unless they just hit something out of the park and I can't ignore the good shite I hear about it.
And I'd still recommend The Boys to people who have never seen it, but with tempered expectations as the show goes on.

The fight scene in the white house was WAY worse than the fight scene in season 3 between Soldier Boy/Hughie/Butcher v Homelander...and homelander was WAY WAY more threatening in season 3 than in the finale. His lasers cut Kimiko in half before and yet didn't do shite to anyone in the finale. He is shown to be almost as fast as A-Train but can't get away from Butchers tentacles?

The only spinoff I might be interested in is one with Soldier Boy. Maybe because I really like that actor or because I like the character. Or maybe both but, I'd at least give it a shot.

I'm not giving anything Boys related a shot unless the praise for it is so strong that I can't ignore it.
I'm not even sure why they brought SB back this season. He was all over the place, and ended up giving HL the V1 anyway. So all of his trying to help was undone in that one scene. And then he walks off the set with a one-liner about drinking and fricking his way through South America or whatever, and we never see him again. it just felt like a total waste, especially since he is the one supe who has the literal power to stop HL and kill him. I know it's his son but he literally doesn't give a frick about him at all, and said as much 37 times. Yet all of a sudden he does it for his dead wife? It just made no sense.

This. Did they run out of budget. You really need to see HL just killing the frick out of people instead of just talking about it. Like someone else mentioned when he took fake Elon to space. Why not show that. This season had soooo many opportunities to be better and they missed on almost all of them.
The finale was meh, not great but not awful. Sage getting a happy ending was bullshite. She’s a piece of shite person. The way Deep went out was kind of weak. I agree they have shown him to be fast as frick in the water. This season had soooo many inconsistencies. He should have went out in a battle with a Mako or a school of Barracuda.

I mean. The Deep was always a pussy. And HL was always an emotionally stunted titty milk drinking loser with daddy issues. His change once depowered made sense. In fact, I think this is what he’d have always been had he not been a Supe.
Episode and season was still arse though.

Vulnerable?
The V1 made HL unkillable, and SB knew that and gave it to him anyway, right? Wasn't that the whole point of all of that and why they were trying to get to it before HL?

I think the main thing with V1 is it doesn’t make you unkillable. It stops the aging process and protects you from the virus that kills supes with regular V in their system. Stormfront had V1 and HL’s kid could have killed her with the laser blast if he held it on her longer.
So a supe with HLs powers with V1 is Immortal and practically indestructible but maybe not completely indestructible. I’m thinking like a Viltrumite. Doesn’t age or ages really slow and damn near Invincible.

Right that's what I mean. I should've said immortal instead of unkillable since that's the word HL kept using. Because he was already invincible basically, and this meant he could live forever.
But either way, Soldier Boy knew that and gave it to him anyway.

What a shite final 2 seasons. The series as a whole was like watching a loved one with Alzheimers and ALS as they slowly wither away into nothingness.
