I think the underlying problem is that Lucasfilm knew how popular Boba was and tried to turn him into a respected good guy/warrior-hero which basically emasculated him from doing anything dishonorable. I think they Greedo-shot-first'd him.

I think someone earlier in the thread made a great point - the Mandalorian series is basically what every one imagined Boba would be and what they wanted him to be for decades. But because they did the Mandalorian, they had to go in a different direction with Boba.

Exactly. It's also another reaon why I'm ok with Boba's character revision. I have Mando to fall back on for some anti-hero badassery.

I’m a Star Wars fan, I knew what it was, just couldn’t remember the name. I’m not a super nerd fan where I know the name of every creature.

C'mon, man.

Also, now I'm wondering how much better life would have been if The Book of Boba Fett" had just been "The Mandalorian" and we saw Boba interacting with Grogu instead of Mando.

I hate when Boba is helmetless and smiles. It looks like he has dentures. Boba Fett should never look like he has dentures.

This season and series gets a C. The only very enjoyable episodes were with Mando and Luke, and I enjoyed the 2nd episode. The finale sucked. The whole series just felt off. There are too many characters in it that just don't feel like they belong in Star Wars. They should have just cut this down to 2-3 episodes as part of the next season of Mando.

Amen. He looks like the galaxy quest aliens when he smiles. Takes me out of it every time.

Well I think what you are seeing is the beginnings of a larger universe for Star Wars. I think they are expanding and Mandalorian was the proof of concept that they knew what they were doing with Star Wars, but Fett was the jump off point. Anyone thinking Grogu was not going to retun to Mando was off their rocker. Grogu may still turn into a light side user like Asoka. Remember, he had years of training prior to Luke.

an't just see him flipping the script and being like we need to protect everyone...and I don't need money.

While there may be some merit to this angle, that's the downside to fleshing out such an otherwise mysterious figure.

It's certainly possible, but I think that the experience with the Tusken Tribe made a significant impact on his outlook. He understands the importance of having a pack, now.

All that said, I'm with the folks who were clamoring for the Star Wars version of The Sopranos, but I don't know that with Disney helming the whole thing that we could ever get that.

A Hulu SW series, at the very least.

Now we're just nitpicking FWIW, I liked this series comparable to Solo, not ground breaking but not bad either

This series was worth watching just for the Luke-Grogu-Mando scenes alone. Otherwise it was pretty arse. No longer give a shite about Boba anymore, and the actor that plays him sucks.

Some people are just never happy. That series was fun as hell.

Some of y’all are hating just to hate. It wasn’t the worst episode ever. Somethings maybe could have been different but y’all are talking yourselves into hating this episode and thinking it was awful.

fricking this man.

My kids have been running around the house playing Boba Fett, the mandalorian , and the rancor for an hour after watching the finale. They could have given two shits watching the last trilogy. Favreau and Filoni have really brought some magic back to this world and it’s palpable in the little ones reaction to it just like it was in previous generations with the OT.

Sorry it wasn’t a fricking tactical masterclass in terms of urban warfare I’ve always just kinda enjoyed Star Wars flaws and all ( save for 8 and 9), and this show and episode were no different.

To watch some of these dudes pick this apart is just sad and the D+ direction is about as good as the universe has been in damn near 40 years.

My guess is Cobb will be one of the main characters in “Rangers of the New Republic” if it ever gets made.

I still don't see how Mando is going to perform bounties with no cargo hold

He can take them in warm, or he can take them in cold.

That hollowed out astromech bay can easily accommodate a head. Hell, I bet I could easily crumple up a full body in there.

Also, just sending Grogu alone seems like a bit of a dick move by Luke. At least accompany him and deliver him safely. As it was, R2 just dropped him off in the middle of a gang war

To be fair, Grogu just told him frick your master's light Saber and the legacy of the Jedi, I'm sticking with the fricking ex-communicated mandolorean bounty hunter!

You know what they say about a woman scorned. We should be glad Luke didn't strike him down right there and bury him in his oh so precious chain mail. Gotta prevent him from going to the dark side, right?

Also the Jedi nor for that mater anyone in charge never concerned themselves with what went on in the Outer Rim.

They did rescue Jabba's son in the Clone War movie to preserve a travel lane through the Outer Rim. Palpatine had to encourage them some, but they all jumped in pretty quick.

At that point, the Outer Rim was basically unknown and worthless frontier.

It's still frontier, but the Skywalkers came from there. And there's likely some out-migration from the big inner areas, as people want to get away from the bureaucracy and corruption. It's kinda like moving to Montana; 150 yrs ago that was wilderness. Now, it's living space.

I really wish they'd do a Solo limited series to wrap up the threads they set up in the movie.
