This is a decent bellwether for how things usually shake out during awards season. Of course we'll know more about what the industry is thinking when Golden Globe nominations are announced next week:

Not too long ago, the idea that a spiderman cartoon and a Barbie movie makes ANY top motion picture list world have been considered ludicrous.

No best actor/supporting actor nomination for Nefarious?

Not surprised, but it’s high robbery!

Sean Patrick Flannery was amazing!

ETA: I see this is just a list for top movies. Sorry. I hope he gets nominated for the best actor category.

I really want to see American Fiction. Looks like a funny movie. It’s not playing near me though which is odd.

Basically this is the South Park episode where the kids write the dumbest script they can and everyone loves it.

So goes the state of modern cinema. Thank God there won't be as many white people in the movies that make the cut for the Oscars, amirite?

Past Lives is incredible. A masterful and beautiful third act. Easily my #1 movie of the year so far, but I still have a lot to see.

And yet that Spider-Man "cartoon" is legitimately an extremely well written and beautifully rendered film.

On a local note - two of the ten had LSU alums in key design positions. Solid list and all worth a viewing

Oppenheimer and Godzilla minus one are my two favorite.

I didn’t love holdovers.

Wow. Compares very unfavorably with the great years in movies.
