Still haven't watched, but just saw a clip on IG from episode three with a bunch of witches standing around, chanting, and doing weird shite... Holy frick, yeah, I'm not gonna even attempt to watch the show.

What an absolute clusterfrick

That's nothing more than a virtue signal to show they hired a black woman.

Star wars will be as profitable as the WNBA at this point and let's be honest, the only reason these special interest groups ever had interest in star wars was because of the money. Same with marvel. They saw it was a big pot of money and started the backroom blackmail to wedge their way in to getting big roles.

Once the money dries up where will the locusts communists turn to next? All this effort to conquer without building anything new.

Disney needs to just release the final 5 episodes. Dragging this out for another month is going to get them absolutely dragged over the coals for that entire time.

Finally watched.

The chanting is as bad as I thought it would be. I dont think there is really any context needed. its dumb,

they are definitely trying too hard to make “power of one, power of two. power of many” a thing. and it’s just lame.

I want to know how the witches died.

as to whether they changed the force. I think that’s an overreaction. one space coven’s interpretation doesn’t actually change how the force works or what it is. in an entire galaxy I dont think everyone would have the same opinions as the Jedi.

I want to know what actually happened in the coven and who Mae’s master is. So I will keep watching but this wasn’t a good episode of television.

the black Mom is credited on IMDB for 6 episodes

So. . .

I would wager it is definitely one of the Mom's

But I am not watching anymore after that laughable shite.

I will just read reviews and shite, going forward.

Still trying to catch stone on fire. . .

I agree. Look we hired a black costume designer and our head lesbian witch is black also.

This is just so tiresome.

Bets on the masked sith ends up being the black woman witch? They can use “Mae I am your mother.” You know they want to do it.!I’m at its 100% her. With our two diverse female twins having the balls to do what the weak Jedi couldn’t do and killing her in the end.

I don’t think it’s just calling it the thread, or the weird concept that it can’t be wielded as a weapon, when the witches use it exactly that way. It’s that the whole Force conception of Anakin is no longer unique and the concept of his being the Chosen One can’t be understood the same way.

The entire show has already been spoiled. If you want to know who it is it’s easy to find out

This from Forbes

quote:

The Acolyte’s 15% Audience Score Is Embarrassing, For The Audience Scorers

quote:

No, I am not going to entertain a debate that this is not review bombing. A 15% score is barely more than a third of the last most controversial Disney Star Wars project, The Last Jedi. Nothing is even close except that Holiday Special. On IMDB, it’s even easier to see. A full 54% of all reviews are 1 star, giving it a 3.6/10.

There’s also how fast this happened. For instance, Ahsoka only has 5,000 reviews in on Rotten Tomatoes after being out for months while The Acolyte has aired three episodes in two weeks and has 10,000 reviews in. The last season of The Mandalorian only has 2,500 reviews in. The beloved Andor, 5,000 reviews total, years later.

Rotten Tomatoes has previously tried to curb review bombing in the wake of what happened with Captain Marvel’s release, “verifying” people had watched the movie before reviewing. But there has been no way to enforce such a system with TV, so here we are.

Why is this happening? There are a bunch of dimensions to this, and none of them good. There is absolutely a racial and gender component to this. A clip from star Amandla Stenberg about “making white people cry” was shared tens of thousands of times online, taken out of context from an interview years earlier about her film The Hate U Give. Showrunner Leslye Headland has starred in many YouTube thumbnails lambasting the “woke” nature of the series, but also it allegedly “breaking canon.”

It does

But if both sides have the ability to review bomb to influence the score, wouldn't this just even out to show that the vast majority of people hate it?

If there were people that wanted the score to go up so badly that they gave it a good review, then the score would already be higher.

Those people don't seem to exist or aren't trying hard enough to review bomb it back to a good score.

If you watch the series as if it were a comedy - an unintentional one - it’s very entertaining.

As a serious straightforward Star Wars series, it’s complete arse and not a good arse like prime Jessica Biel, I’m talking Lizzo in sweatpants on a hot summer day arse.

There's no denying that there is a culture war angle to this show. But honestly, chalking it up to wokeness does a disservice to the most glaring criticism of the show, which is that it is horrifically abysmal writing. Granted, that is probably a result of the aforementioned pandering, but Jesus Christ these people actually are getting paid to write this crap. This genuinely is some of the worst writing I've ever witnessed by a major company.

A show can be woke, but have great writing and performances. . .and be very successful and well reviewed.

Great example are The Expanse and The Boys.
