That might’ve worked in Spaceballs. Maybe.

some of these things are going to be subjective, I won’t argue with you over Yord. He doesn’t bother me, just he is rigid and uptight and not exactly likeable.

But some of that stuff I think is intentional.

Sol says he saw Mae die… well she’s alive. I think it is clear that some kind of cover up is going on and it wouldn’t make sense for Sol to know nothing about it.

quote:

We need you, you are vital to defending this place!!! -I trained her -OK, I guess you aren't vital, go.

this is pretty generic

“i’m going”

“you can see need you/it’s too dangerous”

“im the best man for the job”

type dialogue. I dont get how you can watch anything and enjoy it if this kind of stuff annoys you.

I think you came in expecting it to be bad and now youre getting genuinely annoyed at some pretty benign things.

I also think the lightsaber thing is foreshadowing.

Fire can exist in space w/ oxygen and a fuel source so maybe the tie fighter explosions somehow were the quick burning of the oxygen tank and fuel. Having a campfire in space? Now that is as dumb as having a herd of horses gallop across a star destroyer.

He isn't rigid or uptight

He is laughably incompetent.

If guy like that were in the US Navy, they would call him a shitbag.

That isn't it.

She said he was vital to protecting the school

And then she lets him go.

So he either was not vital, or she is cool with the kids being murdered.

A fiery explosion in space is one thing. A sustained, crackling campfire on the outside of a spaceship is something else entirely different.

Why. Because you know fire doesn’t act like a bonfire but you don’t know explosions in space wouldn’t look like that?

What did he do that’s laughably incompetent? I dont remember him having enough responsibility to frick anything up that much. He snags that knife from her.

saw one theory that thinks he’s the sith and everything is intentional. He broadcasts Sol’s conversation with Mae to Osha. He stops her from killing him with the knife (because he wants her to kill a jedi without a weapon). He intentionally put Mae on the shite with just droids. He follows her to keep an eye on her at the temple, but really was there to intervene if she got there before Master Tommen was dead (I may need to start learning these character’s names)

that’s dumb logic

he can both be vital and express that this is important enough for him to be absent. the biggest risk at that time seems to be the former student murdering jedi.

Apparently the asian dude learned English for this role. That's impressive because, while he has an accent, he sounds like he had been speaking the language for a while.

I predict that in short order this will be one of those parts of Star Wars that people act like doesn't exist. Like the Christmas special.

I've gotten a good feel for the show watching various reviews and it sounds like a poorly written farce with bad acting. The viewership will continue to tank with each passing week.

Dude, his own Padawan talks down to him and treats him like an embarrassment.

I read this before I watxhed the show and was concerned but he’s very good. I couldn’t imagine acting in a different language.

Sol is the only character worth a shite

Not another single character is even remotely interesting.

"The Acolyte" still represents Disney+‘s biggest series premiere of 2024, however.
The only competition being Echo, Gay Who, and X-Men 97

the line isn’t “your vital to our defense” btw.

She said “you’re far too valuable Sol. I cant afford to lose you to a field mission. You are far too valuable.”

Sol hits her with “I trained her. If she is guilty then it is my failure. Let me take accountability.”

And at that point Sol is clearly getting a little emotional, and it’s clear how much this means to him.

The bat girl?

The white and orange girl is Sol’s Padawan and you get the idea they know eachother. He’s been a Jedi Knight for 2 years and she’s older.

Explosions in space don’t look like explosions on earth.

It’s not just oxygen, but we have atmospheric pressure that doesn’t exist at all in space.

even with fuel, oxygen and a ignition a space exploration would looks completely different.

The explosions were done with actual explosions on earth. they look like earth explosion because they are.

space explosions would be a flash of light and the the fire spreading out faster than you could see and then the shrapnel at insane speeds till it hits something’s.
