She didn’t work on it after season 1.
Horrible press surrounding it and all, I had faith she could craft an interesting narrative.
She couldn't.
Personally, I think she doesn't understand Star Wars. . .nor was she ever a fan. I think she thought she had a neat premise (Jedi are bad) and thought she could bullshite her way through with a couple meh to average action scenes.
She didn't understand that SW fans are far more knowledgeable than she expected. She expected the "Disney Defender" level of intellect (hurr hurr, it was over a birthday, hurr hurr. . .explosions are the same as a gently lapping fire in space). She wasn't ready mentally. . .not to mention creatively, and it showed.

Thats a pretty general statement.
why do you think she was never a fan?
Am I not a fan if I enjoyed the OT but thought everything i learned about the Order after was weird? I still liked Rogue 1, Andor and The Mandalorian.

there have been several things in the show that sorta vouch for the fact that she was a "fan"
the KOTOR and other easter eggs in the show are something a non-fan wouldn't have included.
Screen Rant pointed out 31 Easter Eggs they found in the Acolyte.
You can hate her show, but it's hard to say she isn't a fan.

This show gave more nods to the EU than almost other star wars properties and the reaction was petty bitching.

Awe the key jangling didn’t work… Reeeeeeee!!!

You’re the one who watched episode 5 and instead of enjoying one of the best fight scenes in the franchise decided to shite giants about cortisis being slightly different than described in a 2014 Thrawn novel.
Half your complaints are you being a petty bitch or fundamentally misunderstanding or intentionally ignoring the events of the show

Describes those who'd blindly pay for and watch things like The Acolyte, Rings of Power, The Marvels, Willow, Wheel of Time, etc... not one who uses free will to watch something universally praised, like Godzilla Minus One, RRR, Arcane, One Piece, House of the Dragon, etc...
This will sound crazy to you, but a ton of people actively choose to consume things from both of your lists. Some people choose to watch the things you've decided to hate and like them. Some people choose to watch the things you like, and then they dislike them. Which is free will. People choosing to watch some or all of the things you dislike does not mean they are blind or a sheep.
The "universally praised" phrase detracts from your point. How much free will does it take to watch the thing that everybody already loves? I thought the first season of HotD was quite poor. Am I a sheep because I'm not continuing with the second season, even though everyone tells me it's good? I feel like I'm exercising free will by not spending time with something I disliked.

They seem to have some idea that a movie/shows rating is the end all be all that determines if something is good or not.
I think it's just different strokes for different folks.
I didn't like "The Shape of Water"
that doesn't mean everyone that did like it is lying.

If you think that was a great fight scene you’re literally retarded.

Except, it really doesn't.
How many watched RRR? Or Godzilla Minus One? Neither got massive US views, compared to some MEGA blockbusters, but they did get great reviews & won Oscars.
HOTD may have been slow in parts, but hell, the acting, sets and costume designs were on par with GoT.
While folks have different tastes and interests, shows like Velma, Santa Inc, Robyn Hood and Willow were unmitigated trash.
Yes, it can be a crapshoot. With the same folks who brought us the live adaptations of Cowboy Bebop (disaster) also giving us One Piece. (amazing)
But back to your point, I would have watched RoP had the showrunners tried to give us as authentic Tolkien as possible. They purposefully chose to NOT do that, aind instead give us an update for the "modern audiences" -their words. That's not Tolkien then! They're just grifting off his name and his works, and I won't have any part of it. And neither did most who started watching the show, as only 37% finished it.
I watched every movie ( save one) of the *MCU, so I know as much as most about what doing those types of movies well means. And because I watched 22/23 movies, I can have an informed opinion on what makes a BAD movie, and why it's not even worth my time to watch anymore. Because of what Disney themselves have said.
I watch a movie franchise (MCU) for 11 years, or a TV series like Doctor Who (14 years) , don't frickng tell me that I have no opinion about anything unless I watch the rest of those garbage chapters. That's hilarious.
*phase 1-3

I think it’s funny how much you project without even realizing it. You’re a very small person

I enjoyed a fight scene.
you cried about it online.
you’re posting in a thread about a show you hate because you made up reasons to hate it.
You are so miserable.

You’d enjoy watching cow shite dry if Disney told you.

Cry harder
sorry a franchise you allegedly like did something cool but it wasn’t white guys doing it
I know that’s hard for you and a pathetic moron who lives through movie characters.

False accusations, make believe nonsense and projection. Par for the course with you.

I have not read this thread. I have waiting to watch this show until all of the episodes dropped.
Is this show worth watching? Is it entertaining? Fun?
Where would you rank it among the other Star Wars series?

It has its moment, but overall I wouldn’t call it a success. It’s certainly not worthy of the length of this thread. It’s hanging at the bottom of the list with Boba Fett and Kenobi.
I would only recommend watching if they renew for a second season.

It’s the worst Star Wars show to date. I got through half the season struggling to finish a 27 minute episode at one time but by episode 5 I was watching just to laugh at it and it became easier to stomach that way. It’s a half hour show so that does help but if you’re a SW fan you’ll probably hate it.
