Can't wait for this episode to come out and this thread to start with genuine reaction to the episode from people who enjoy the show what it is, followed shortly by a mob mentality from everyone else shitting on the show's politics.
It's been the cycle for the last month.
I think thats a really narrow view. If you go back and watch the show from start to finish youll see why people find it meh. The first season was funny, fun, heartwarming. Everything after has been stale, flat, and pushing stuff whether it be ads or politics. Heck this group got up and spoke at a presidential new conference. its lame and not what the normal person wants

Seems like a lot of normal people are watching.

Honestly I thought this season sucked. It was simply pushing BS narratives about sexuality and race. Ted is dealing with his mental health which would have been a great story line, but they just kind of quit after a few episodes on that topic and go on to the alphabet gang.
There have been some really strong episodes. The worst part has been Keely and Jack’s relationship but honestly I dont think that was pushing sexuality. There was 0 push back from anyone in them dating. Jack was annoying because we all want Keely to get back together with Roy and Jack was a waste of time.

Agreed. The Jack and Keely storyline is honestly the only thing I have a big gripe about for this season. The last few episodes have been very good.

Sorry, maybe write a good script without annoying political propaganda and we won’t shite on the show?? The show sucks now, I’m sure the viewership and popularity is way down since a Season 1. You can even tell anecdotally on here or friends you speak with. Nobody spoke negatively about Season 1...
It seems disingenuous to act like this is good writing or story telling. It isn’t. There’s still some good jokes, laughs, and moments in there to keep the people from Season 1 barely hanging on. But this is nothing more than a vessel for leftist propaganda at this point. Denying it is silly.
I’m willing to admit the flip side of this as well. If this show kept cutting away to right wing story lines I’d also think it was bad writing and unnecessary for a soccer comedy. Just seems like a certain subset of people can’t agree to that.
If in the episode - a bunch of refugees broke into the country and raped Roy’s niece, and the team had a “team bonding experience” building a wall at the border. I think that certain subset of people would call bullshite in here. And I too would think it’s unnecessary political nonsense for a comedy, but it seems disingenuous to only point it out when it currently only portrays one side favorably.

Wrong. It’s always sucked. For those of you who watched every episode and are now mad because it’s “woke”, did you know Sudeikis completely changed the character after Trump got elected because he didn’t want to offend people? Congrats, you’ve been watching lib shlock this entire time.

Nate had a chance to be a fun and cool villian and that never developed. The very obvious Zlatan like character was cool, but then he leaves for no reason. It was just a choppy season
I felt this way as well but those story lines would need more time to flesh out. They didn't plan for that

Mexican Dani is terrifying.
Fun episode all around.
Oh, and I am glad that Nate took action, not just reaction.

I loved this. Not quite as much as last episode but it was phenomenal. Kinda got choked up at Nate and his dad. My dad always pushed me and it just reminded me of him. He always did great with letting me know how loved I was and everything but still.
Like that they’ve recovered this season some. Hopefully they end it on a strong note.

I dont think that was pushing sexuality.
Regardless it was a complete waste of time and I’m glad it only held a small part of the show. Maybe they felt they needed it to get to the point of Keely losing funding, idk but it was dumb.

I think they could have done the Keeley storyline much better. I don't think her having a relationship with a woman was out of character for her, but just about everything else this season for her was. I would say that is really the only major beef I have with this season. It is true that the storylines aren't as tight, but I haven't really minded the other detours.

Keely’s entire arc has been a disaster and there’s been so much wasted time with her this season. Her and Roy breaking up for pretty useless reasons, then just them back together. Zzzzz. The frickwich teacher > Keely all day every day.
Good episode tho. The set piece with Nate playing the violin interlaced with the Rebecca speech was the best moment of the entire season.

The last few episodes have been solid, but the show has been spinning wheels since the first season.
I can imagine British people would find the Super League portrayal offensive given in reality it was actually an idea of a bunch of foreign owners - mostly Americans.

Terrence Malick directed that Nate scene.

Yep. I keep FFing through more and more of the show. I'm down to 15 minutes of actually watching

Roy Kent is still the best character in TV after Hank from
Barry.
Barry.

So your financial backer sleeping with you, and then breaking it off for BS reasons and pulling your funding seems like it could have some legal ramifications. The brief shot of the text from Jack saying it was out of her hands was supposed to make her not the bad guy? WTF?
This episode and the one in Amsterdam were both really good, but I am kind of done with anything related to Keleley. I was hoping Roy would go for the teacher.
Jamie is so likable now. His arc has been the best so far. The nod to Sam and Roy’s present were nice little touches on his character.
Glad Nate got out from under Rupert, but I legitimately thought I had accidentally fast forwarded or something because it was so abrupt. The violin scene was well done, and loved the dad interaction.
Sadly, I don’t see how Sam gets out from under Akufo’s evil eye short of the dude dying in a plane crash or something.
I hope Psycho Dani Rojas makes a reappearance at some point.
