Anyone watch taboo tonight ?

I really think some of the media hating on Hardys grunt fest is just nitpicking at this point . I will agree that a couple episodes dragged but episode 7 did a brilliant job at connecting the dots on the whole story . Needless to say I believe James Delaney will pull yet another rabbit out of his hat , possibly escape to America somehow .I believe James Delaney will get strange and the company to turn on the crown. Even if they kill tom Hardy , there's no denying the crown cant overlook strange being complicint in slave trade which could lead to strange being jammed up in England badly . Yet his company can still operate outside the bounds of England and it's known that the company is just as powerful as the crown in this day and age. I could be way off here but we will see.

Gotta give props to Hardys imagination with this show. Doing very well with his first co-created project . Also respect his entire demeanor , much cooler and down to earth than 95% of Hollywood.

Tonight's episode was fantastic. Agree with most of your points.

How anyone can dislike the show is beyond me. Guess the messy British is too much for some.

Strange is his only real chance of getting a ship . How exactly he will do it is beyond me .

Is this going to be the only season or are they on track for a second?

The last couple of episodes were kinda messy, but I do feel like this most recent episode was a return to form. I'm excited to see how it ends.

Only one episode left, right? Not sure how they will tie all of it up. Surely we are not done with the sister.

What happens to Lorna?

I also feel like the last episode finally got going again. Hoping to get some closure in the finale and not have to wait a year to pick up the story.

It's been good but not great

It does a good job and I like the dark tones. Hardys character is frustrating and can annoy me

It's far from the best show on tv but it's a solid B show

I still don't fully understand why Hardy allowed himself to be arrested knowing the whore would turn on him. Even Atticus figured out the inevitable.

He didn't have to kill the whore; just put her on ice until his business was concluded.

If he has a deal to make with the East India Trading Company he could have done so without going through the pain.

I also am confused on a couple of things.

1. I know a large portion of the story revolves around Delaney, the EIC, the Crown, and the Americans all having spies everywhere. Even knowing that, it seems the EIC's plan to get James arrested is a bit convoluted. The basics of it are they made it look like James killed a co-conspirator's child so that the co-conspirator would provide testimony to James committing treason. In order for that to happen, they would have had to know all of the following; Helga was part of the plan, Winter was her daughter, and James would be so drunk on the night Winter was killed that he wouldn't even really be sure he didn't do it. It was also weird how Strange seemed sort of surprised by the turn of events when the whores came in to confess. So, who planned that whole thing out.

2. This could me just generally forgetting, but what made Brace start moping in his bed. It seemed that he knew that James figured out that Brace poisoned his dad. I caught the part where James said they still have rats even though Brace had arsenic to kill them. I just didn't catch the part where it was made evident that James figured it out.

This seemed totally out of the blue to me. We watched the episode last night, and I asked my BF why Brace was just now all emo & moping in bed. Neither of us could recall anything specific.

Granted, I don't watch with subtitles on, so I assumed I missed something in the convos I couldn't understand.

I do watch with subtitles, which is usually a big help. It didn't do anything for me in this situation.

I like the premise of this show but its so damn back-and-forth....
* * * Spoilers * * *

The Americans wanna kill him, then do business with him

His sister hates him, then kills her husband so she can screw him

He screws her and tells her he loves her, then wants nothing to do with her

The servant was his fathers best friend and Delaneys most trusted advisor, then hes killed his father

He wants the cross dresser to sell out EIC, then he doesnt

He wants to kill Strange, then make a deal with him

ETC, ETC, ETC

Owww. I couldn't tell, either. I thought it was like a giant cheese grater shaving his thigh skin.

thought this was covered in the first episode where the doctor did a midnight autopsy on the old man. He did some chemical experiment and told James his dad had been poisoned with small amounts of arsenic over time. Seems that would point to the butler.
Unless the actress poisoned him littl by little.

Right, but why did everything come to light in the second to last episode? Why did Brace all of a sudden realize that James knew?

Also, back to more questions asked a couple of posts above.

- I think he still wants Godfrey to go against the EIC, but by telling him he will never have to testify makes it easier on Godfrey. He was letting Godfrey know that he could get everything he wants without even having to do the terrifying act of testifying against an extremely powerful organization.

- I was also confused as to why James is now shunning his sister. The only thing I could think of is that he didn't want her to kill her husband.

He had a vision while they were fricking. That is all I can figure.
