I still can't understand why they haven't gotten rid of Shan.

There's really no trust with all the different members and mini groups-- Shan-Ricard and Deshawn-Danny-- to make that move. Once someone suggests it they go and run and tell everyone else.

Deshawn and Danny have no advantages and there only safe haven is staying aligned with Shan and Ricard and Lliana to certain extent. I think that is why Deshawn didn't flip on Lliana. It will leave him and Danny exposed.

The power of editing.

Deshawn had no intention of voting for Liana. I would bet that either Xander or Evvie were there when Deshawn said he wanted to vote for Liana but they were cropped out of the video. Danny would have been the truly obvious target and he didn’t show any concern. If Deshawn votes Liana, he doesn’t have as good of a story to tell the jury as he does if he sticks with his alliance. Being a part of history versus stabbing a sister in the back.

Deshawn complains about Shan but he’s going to stay “down” until Final Four.

Survivor has made an art of creative and misleading editing. Don’t fall for it.

Let the record show that if I ever happen to be on survivor, I will immediately vote out every black person so you know longer have to watch them talk about race for half an episode. You’re welcome.

So Shan tells Ricard he’s got her vote for the million as she’s leaving.

Stupid. That tells everyone to get rid of him, if they weren’t planning that already.

That was wonderful to see her leave!!!

I am glad to say I was wrong about the strength of the Black alliance. The game is so much more interesting without a dominant alliance.

In the past, contestants talked about focusing on just being there one more day and really relied on a big move in the final 4 or 5 to justify the prize. These players have been trying to build resumes by stabbing allies in the back for a long time. Meanwhile, Erika and Xander keep rolling along.

It really is amazing how Xander is still around, and still has his hidden immunity idol.

He made it to the point where the other side(s) are eating their own.

To be fair they just aren't going for him so he's not having to use it. They really missed their chance to flush it and take him out two weeks ago.

Speaking of idols and advantages, it's refreshing that there hasn't been any emphasis on finding them in the post merge. I like the idea of having the pre merge be a wild wild west of idols/advantages but having it stop once the tribes come together.

Now this could be a) they aren't entering the game by design or b) nobody is looking for them c) people are looking but not finding them. I'd assume it's C but i'm hoping it's A

Didn’t fall for anything, seems I was right and this episode proved it. Loved the blindside on Shan. Well played.

Shan was so focused on getting rid of Erika she had no other thought that she was a target which is crazy after knowing Ricard was the target going into the immunity challenge.

Iliana is going to be so salty going back to camp.

Best episode of the season in my opinion. Part of that was because I couldn't stand Shan and was happy to see someone finally flip to target her. Ricard is in trouble moving forward, and will probably be a target.

Excited to see the shakeup with who's left. I'm hoping that Danny, Xander, or Erika can somehow pull it off. Liana is going to lose her mind back at camp, which is going to be great entertainment. She'll burn the bridges she has left, but probably stick around because she won't be a threat.

It feels like Xander has been able to slide under the radar because he doesn't have any strong alliances. Shan leaving might actually be a negative for him because there will be a power vacuum and he's an obvious challenge threat and also has an idol.

Ultimately I’m glad she’s gone, but it does kind of suck she went out trying to do the right thing and protect Ricard. Gave her the high road to say how she was so proud of the way she played the game

Although the more I think about it, it wasn’t really an “I want to stick by him” move, it was just another “He’s staying because I want to be the one making the decisions, not anyone else”.

She even said “they’re trying to make a move for their resume against me”, so that really was the biggest reason she didn’t go along with it I think. She didn’t want to give them an argument for the jury.

She also misplayed her hand by telling him that they wanted a final four. At that point he understood the alliance and realized he was screwed whether it was this week or at final 5.

Had she just said, the whole tribe wants to split us up because we’re seen as a duo, she probably would have been ok and he would have worked with her to take out the Asian girl or flush Xander’s idol.

But Ricard understanding the Cookout meant he needed to make a longer term goal to get in good with the other side. That’s what really ruined her game.

You could see it in his face when she said it. That was why he acted so weird and kept saying he needed to “process” instead of just being thankful that she was giving him the information and trying to save him.

Just watched this episode and really was surprised Jeff didn't require Xander to give Shan his idol, because you know. White man bad, unless he’s gay.

Damn this world if fricked up. Just realized is Shan really a minister? Maybe she can hum here way back home.

So glad Shan is gone. She had to be trying to intentionally sabotage Ricard's game to save Liana with that closing remark, right? And it's not like Ricard wasn't already a target anyway.

The Deshawn comment made me laugh... they know he's a snake, they just helped him blindside you and Liana.

She's not stupid. She did that to ruin his game. She was pissed that he voted her out this early when he said he wouldn't.

I said from the beginning of the season I felt like Shan was getting a Jeremy 1.0 edit and I think that really came true.
