I’m enjoying it. Each episode is giving me just enough to want to watch next week

Galadriel is not main character material, though.

They're both fine, but HoD has mostly been people talking in large rooms or tents for four episodes.

Those were some of the best moments on Game of Thrones: Tywin’s first scene

Did anyone explain why the elves, who were on Watch for a orc activity, somehow missed that giant chunk of forest suddenly disappearing as the orcs tunnel underneath?

This has gotta be some of the worst, D level writing in all of TV.

Not saying that is inaccurate but the highest-rated episodes of GOT only had about half that.
For just the traditional live TV ratings maybe. The streaming numbers are much higher for HOTD

The HBO Max streaming numbers for Ep 1 is over 30M

It is slow at times. To me clunky and all over the place.

Yes House of Dragon is doing a great job of telling the story and creating a good flow. Even if an episode does not have as much action still connected to the overall plot.

I love how everyone on here who is a massive Tolkien fan is saying how bad and woke it is and then saying they aren't even watching.

For the average LOTR fan who isn't obsessed with the books, I've really enjoyed it. I think this and Dragons have been very well done.

Yes. And those moments were spread out between many concurrent stories all over a continent, and later a world. HoD has a royalty problem. The narrow focus makes it drag in a way that early thrones never did.

I think this currently only applies to a few. Prior to the release there seemed to be many more but apparently they followed through, did not watch it, and no longer comment.

My expectation was little higher considering the budget that was spent and still have hope it will get better while continuing to watch. But one does not need to be a Tolkien fan to want a great story written if they love a specific genre. I think the majority on here will continue to watch but hope it picks up.

I am not saying it is bad but it is not great either. The best part I was already a subscriber so it cost me nothing to watch other than a hour a week.

Yeah but no one in HOD is Tywin or Tyrion.

It’s a good show and the dole out just enough action and T&A to keep people coming back.

But it Drags at times.

They don’t have enough subplots.

I’m in. I’m enjoying it, but everything is about the succession no one is doing anything else. GOT had Jon Snow in the north doing Wall stuff and Arya wondering aimlessly

Whether the discussion about “wokeism” is valid or not, it’s deterred me from watching. I really want to start, but I don’t want to waste time with some modern, creative take that might feel like the result of some college paper in a critical theory class.
