Yea loved Guardians, but outside of that everything just comes off as like it’s made straight for the CW.

Lol

Then you’re just not a fan of Superman because this tone is exactly what the comics are.

The tone is fine. The rest of it just looks like fricking shite. But feel free to stick your head in the sand about something that looks like it was made by AI

These are the visuals I have been wanting from a Superman movie my entire life. People just don't understand the character, I guess.

There’s nothing wrong with having a lighthearted, colorful Superman. I prefer it.

It still looks like fricking dogshit. Sorry to burst your bubble, champ

Feel like there is a mismatch between the tone, the music and what was on the screen. Just a weird teaser honestly. It's not Gardner's hair - that costume looked terrible. CGI was bad - they need some time on it. Krypton was fine. Nothing wrong with that.

Finally someone with a brain

Hoult is going to crush as Lex. He was awesome in The Order.

The whole tone of that trailer seems off though, like it doesn’t know what kind of movie it wants to be. I also thought I was watching a Top Gun trailer at first with the music Do like the hint of the old theme though.

It did feel like a CW trailer with a Netflix budget. Didn’t have the feel of a Marvel blockbuster or big summer movie..at all. With that being said, I’ll give Gunn the benefit of the doubt because he has mostly knocked everything out of the park. Peacemaker has no right to be as great of a show as it is.

I think a lot of people have been poorly conditioned to think that dark tones and lighting means it is prestige product and some of the reaction here is just pure culture shock at a movie willing to put vibrant colors on screen

I think the reason CW is mentioned is because they still use set lighting and bright colors on their superhero shows and treat it as a television product vs most shows these days try to package themselves as a blockbuster movie in 8 part segments

This trailer seems jarring because comic book movies have gotten increasingly visually duller over the last two decades and why each passing movie seems to be less memorable than the last. DC did this intentionally, while marvel created this template over time that was supposed to give the appears of style and craft, but ultimately was just a cookie cutter cgi template that they used 15 times across 10 characters no one likes that much

Definitely a lot of stuff in there I’d be concerned with in terms of a Superman movie, but I think it’s distinct visual style is one of the more promising of the trailer

Nah. I think people are trending away from liking darker tone moves. This is an over correction. The color saturation makes everything look like it’s a video game CG cut scene and not a big time blockbuster.

In other words, it looks like shite

It's really a shame we had to wait until the umpteenth iteration of Superman in live action before we get to see him fight a kaiju.

This is standard Superman comic book stuff. Bread and butter.

unfortunately the MCU has been dead for a while.

So, that's not a very favorable comparison.

Well, it appears Superman is still a man. Lois appears to not have a penis.

And there is a Super. Dog.

I'm down.

I liked it - I appreciate the different approach compared to the other movies.

Yeah, it’s definitely the part of the movie I’m looking most forward to. Lex in the comics is like a Top 10 villain ever, and they haven’t gotten even close to getting him right in live action cinema.

Lex just isn’t a real estate mogul and certainly not Mark Zuckerberg, but he sees himself as the true champion of humanity and Superman gets in the way of that. It’s not that Superman stops his schemes why he hates him, it’s just he’s blasphemous to Lex’s own existence. Lex sees himself as mankind perfected, and he can’t exist in the same world as an Adonis.

If Pride were to be embodied into a single character, it is Lex Luthor. Really looking forward to Hoult just knocking it out of the park.
