found your review. pretty much agree with everything you said. I think the pocket stuff couldve been better had they paired down some of the plot points in the movie and developed it more.

This is the best version of Lex we have seen. a true foil to superman and an actual villain.

I would say this wasn't just a Superman movie for Gunn. He's stated you'll see a ton of these characters in the next few projects coming out. so he almost backed himself into a corner with shoving as much in as possible.

but this is what the genre needed. instead of the current Marvel stuff of nothing happening until the final episode, the movie pops off and doesnt stop. Glad the next generation has their Superman.

That'll show 'em. They are going to get your money, but later than they get other people's money. But still getting your money. Just later. But still getting it.

That's ok, I went with 10 people that had no intention of going, like me, that just wanted something to do on a Saturday night. We all loved it.

I just think Fox News has bigger reach than Nerdrotic.

Again, you posted a video from before the movie was released. It is not, in any way, relevant to what I said.

Gary is so full of shite. Him liking anything would actually be bad for business.

Like every other movie critic, I don't really care about his overall opinions, but he's usually spot on about whether or not a movie is woke. The 90+% audience score told me it was a movie I would enjoy.

Other than their late night comedy shows, I can't find any. Every derisive comment about Fox News and Superman that I can find on Twitter is referencing the segment that other poster shared where Kellyanne Conway is talking about it. Which, again, was from before the movie released and was a reasonable reaction to Gunn's statements.

It's like some of you are incapable of following a conversation. I don't care about movie critic opinions about if a movie is good or not. I could count on one hand the number of times I've actually watched a Nerdrotic video. That said, it is safe to say a movie definitely isn’t woke if Nerdrotic isn’t willing to call it woke.

Some of you are so ate up with defending a wrong conclusion that you will gaslight against evidence to the contrary.

That all started because variety lied then P. Morgan’s show ran a false headline where Gary and Drinker both argued that Superman was not woke at all. People need to quit pretending to read or watch things when they only skim headlines.

In Gunn we trust.

Had a crazy uphill battle to climb. Had everything going against him. And we all forgot that the dude just knows how to entertain.

See, I kinda disagree. Outside of the core Superman folks (Lex, Lois) the rest of the characters were lower tier DC characters. We haven’t seen Batman, Wonder Woman, the Flash or the good Green Lanterns yet. (Hell, they haven’t even cast the first three). There’s a big sandbox for future movies.

Good thing nobody here does that. I mean... could you even imagine a poster having a fully formed opinion about a movie, about the plot of the movie, what the director of the movie is REALLY trying to say... before the movie has even been released? Almost as if they are forming their opinions about movies not on the movies themselves, but on what various youtube people say.

I'm not calling the movie woke at all - I just got out of the theater to watch it.

I'm saying that he considers it a "disappointment" mostly because he's a pretentious douchebag who is incapable of just enjoying a movie as a movie.
