#4 being so controversial

MOS was crazy on this board. It was always surprising how controversial it was. I didn't suspect that walking out of the theater. I really enjoyed it. I thought a lot of others would too.

I’m glad reception has been good
Gonna take my grandson to this one
A good Superman movie makes me happy, and it’s double fun with so many negative assholes out there melting because they were hoping for failure

You can say "Snyder Stans"

they know who they are

Yep, called it!

Why has the audience meter been garbage because they dropped “want to see”? That doesn’t even affect audience score

Secondly, what’s garbage about verifying the person leaving the review actually saw the movie?

You know, like you haven’t done but keep shitting all over the thread anyway

Ask RT why they changed their system. Ask them why ’want to see’ was done away with.

It was done because fans were not falling in line with gleefully praising Captain Marvel.

Betraying my age here, but thats a fairly recent take on Luthor. He began as your prototypical “mad scientist who wants to rule the world” archetype, straight out of 30’s pulp sci-fi magazines that comics writers from the 50’s to the ‘80’s grew up reading. There was no Lexcorp, no political runs. Luthor had a scheme of the month… a new deathray, a new mutant animal, a new kryptonite trap. He paid for his exotic gear by stealing. He was a straight up villain. Hell, he had his own costume. In many ways, that was a better kind of villain than the jealous captain of industry that John Byre re-imagined. I miss that old mad scientist Luthor.

I don't think that Lex Luthor is completely gone from comics these days, but I also think giving him more understandable motivations has been a net positive for the character overall.

To be sure, nobody used to try to give comic book villains anything close to a real motivation beyond "get more power/gold/women/whatever."

His Justice League cut was much better than the one released in theaters, but the Snyderverse movies were not good overall and his take on Superman was awful. He had a great Superman actor and still somehow managed to screw it up.

I like MOS, a lot.

There should have been a stand alone Batfleck.

Wonder Woman before B v S would have been better

They rushed Batman v. Superman. Was originally supposed to be 2 movies but they panicked after MOS

It wasn't a bad movie, it just wasn't a good Superman movie. Superman would not carelessly endanger civilians. Full stop.

actors, cinematography were very good and MOS had a great score. Paw Kent tornado was ridiculous, collateral damage was bad and killing Zod was stupid. I did like the movie overall though.

Yep I agree with all of this. The problem was how they ruined Superman as a character.

I’m not a Snyder fan fanboy but I think the BS WB pulled when his daughter committed suicide was egregious and if he’d have been left in charge we probably get a much better DCU.

BvS was far too bloated and it tried to do way too much for one movie. The DCEU didn't have to copy the MCU but a better roll out could have been implemented. They tried to catch up to Marvel in one film but introducing Batman, Wonder Woman, teasing Flash, Cyborg, and the Justice League. Doing a Batman vs Superman storyline, introducing Lex and doing Doomsday. All that could have been done in multiple phases over multiple movies instead just one movie

I'm not so sure. Doing a Justice League movie before introducing even half of the Justice League in their own films was a bad decision.

Justice league is when the change was made. They started filming in April of 2016, she died nearly a year later and the movie was released about 8/9 months after that. That’s a Joss Whedon movie who sabotaged it on purpose and caused all kinds of problems on set. He did all the rewrites, reshoots, editing and post production.

I get that, but Snyder still did make the decision to do that movie when it was done. I'm not sure anything could have salvaged it. I was super into it, but I'm a DC comic books need. General audiences want to see a slower build up to the team.

Snyder's version of the Justice League movie is a much better version, no doubt.

Well imo rushing to catch up with Marvel was the mistake that led to all the problems.
