This part, in relation to playing a role, made me laugh.

Your position is that the author is lying?
It’s not a quote, it’s a weighted synopsis.
Not exactly “Ford to City: Drop Dead”, but paraphrasing just the same.

Pretty sure we expected the part of super girl to be played by a woman. But you never know.
These Hollywood pretenders are so out of touch with reality.

simply existing as a woman in that space
Her comment, though not as bad as the headline, still projects tedious self-victimhood. Their inability to avoid playing these cards is also a red flag.

It’s not portions of her interview. You’re lying, again. She responded with the quoted material to the direct question of backlash

Preemptively attacking fans. . .
Where have we seen this before?
It has become a roundabout way for them to tell us it is bad

I assumed she meant fantastical productions that male viewers gravitate towards (GOT, super hero movies)

She didn’t agree that she’d face backlash though. In response to a question about backlash, she said she knows people will “comment” simply because she’s a woman. That’s how writers get a splashy headline. They use the buzz word in the question and regardless of the response, use it again in the headline.

Actresses are fricking dumb

It shouldn’t. Sounds more like a problem with fame more than anything else.

It shouldn’t.
Nobody is commenting on the fact a woman is playing Supergirl

The character is a woman. Suggesting that being a woman will be an issue in this movie is dishonest.

Sounds like a standard preemptive campaign to respond to the “haters”.

Is the woman who is literally famous for being attractive seriously trying to play victim because people notice her appearance?
This isn't even a women's issue. Jason Mamoa is not famous because he can act. Even famous people who are well known for things other than their appearance aren't exempt. The nickname for the new LSU basketball coach is "the pear". Because he's shaped like a pear.
Aren't we collectively ready to stop with the victim Olympics? At a bare fricking minimum from people who are wealthy, famous, and good looking?

You’re not worth our time here. Have fun with your last word.

Yes, and that’s the point I was trying to make. It’s not about her playing supergirl. It’s her being in anything notable which will garner a lot of attention.
