Could’ve at least picked an actress who is easy on the eyes.

I saw a comment on another thread that the actress looks like banjo boy from Deliverance and can’t unsee it

Shill media shilling to try and erase the negativity created by another low iq barely known celeb openly hating the target audience.

0 interest in supporting a film starring people who hate their meal ticket.

It means that Millie Alcock has been terrible on the promotion tour. Either she’s not being coached very well on how to answer questions or the people in charge are complete idiots.

Gotcha. Well good news is that the movie is almost out, so we can soon judge it on its own merits instead of people fixating over what celebs say for the gossip mags.

If we actually get a GOTG/mad max hybrid, word of mouth will carry it. If that’s just paid influencers repeating the same talking point to keep their insider status, it’ll flop on those merits too.

No one saying that it’s going to be Snow White level bad, but she isn’t helping her cause.

Alcock made a comment some months ago about not caring about what idiot fanboys like SEK will think about her appearance, because there is nothing she can do to prevent that type of fan from bitching.

This made people like SEK feel bad about their shitty internet behavior, so now they hate her.

She looks like she could be down syndrome.

Wow at that Disparu clip

I figured the original Variety quote was more about the writer's opinion but she (Alcock) does have some issues with men the way she went straight to that.

Stupid. Your audience in the genre you've chosen is male. Some movie stars have refused to learn anything about just being inoffensive in the past six years.

This is the equivalent of a rom com male actor making snide remarks about women on his press tour (and pretending any pushback is ridiculous).

You'd think they would have learned after Snow White. They are so entitled where they think they are truly untouchable. I'm not sure how they became this way but it's fun to see them fail and be humbled.

How was that in any way offensive? She said it's not centered around a man and yeah no some random twitter clip isn't going to be the reason this movie struggles if it does

I can explain it to you but no one can understand it for you. If you reversed the genders you would easily understand.

This chick looks like she has twice the amount of teeth in her mouth that she should normally have. If I'm trying to decide if I think someone is attractive or not, I always try to imagine seeing them walking around town or in the grocery store. And I can say with confidence that she's pretty mid on a good day.
Not that it matters. But these are archetypes of the perfect human. Has there ever been a Superman that is as unattractive as this woman is?

And it's not as if there's never been casting drama around men, the internet just amplifies it. Batman fans lost their shite when Michael Keaton was announced, Val Kilmer was iffy, hell, people thought Cavill couldn't play the Witcher because he was too handsome.

I don't think she's unattractive (I'll say "striking" to be generous) and she's grown into her looks a bit, but your point is spot on. "Super hero hot" is a different level and people want the person to have the right look, even when the person is Henry Caville. I think her looks combined with her interview and the whole anti-hero theme of the trailers combined for a bad trifecta.

Washington Times
quote:

Milly Alcock, the Australian actress set to headline DC Studios’ upcoming “Supergirl,” said Wednesday she is “honored” that fans have embraced her character as a queer icon — remarks that came during a promotional stop in Rio de Janeiro ahead of the film’s June 26 theatrical release.

Asked at the Brazilian press event what it is about Kara Zor-El that has inspired so many fans to connect with the character that way, Ms. Alcock said her own read of the role aligned with theirs. “I’ve played a few characters that might have a potential queer through line. I have many queer friends. So honestly, I’m kind of honored,” she said.

“I’m honored that that’s happening, but I think because she doesn’t live inside the binary of what we think a woman should be, that is what makes it so special and so exciting and so new,” Ms. Alcock added. She also indicated the interpretation matched her own understanding of Kara
