Gunn overruled Gillespie constantly, apparently.
For example, Gillespie wanted needle drop to be Girls Just Wanna Have Fun, the original by Lauper.
That alone would have DRAMATICALLY improved the last scene.
The Middle cover was boring and too calm for the action that was happening.

No doubt. There's no hype right now but if it's good, word will spread. There wasn't much hype for Penguin either, but word of mouth spread quickly after the first episode.

FWIW I finally got around to watching The Penguin and it was very good.
The woman who wrote that should have been given the chance to write Supergirl if they insisted on a woman being the writer.
