Sorry, didn't see this.

I just rewatched said trailer to make sure. That is not clear.
Forgive me if your opinion is meaningless, as it is completely agenda driven.

The woman who wrote that should have been given the chance to write Supergirl if they insisted on a woman being the writer.
Why hire her, when I can hire someone who has never written anything before?

The person complaining about that was a pretty woke comic fan, and of all my friends is the BIGGEST GL nerd

He said it is clear from a trailer

He could be trying to trick me into watching the trailer, though. fricker

I guess I can see how he came to that conclusion, but I just watched and don't feel like that's what they mean.

You know it's bad when there's an organic flood of people doing their own needle drops, mocking how bad the music choice was and how ridiculous it was for the scene.

They put a new Clayface trailer that has a couple new shots in front of Supergirl apparently. My excitement for anything he’s putting out is cooked at this point

THR:

DC Studios’ Supergirl is falling to No. 4 its second weekend with a decline of around 80 percent for around $8.5 million for the weekend.

And that drop is insane. This movie likely won’t break $150mm worldwide

Why should there be? Green Lanterns operate in space against cosmic level threats. The majesty and mystery of that grand stage is their appeal. This show is about two plainclothes guys walking around on dirt roads bitching about things any detective with two mortgages and a divorce would. The ring is almost completely incidental to their characters. Its a “gritty cop drama” not a Lanterns story.

He’s right. Neither of my kids gave a rats arse about cape movies. My youngest is 20 and he has zero interest in the genre. They didn’t have comic book culture growing up because comics disappeared from common places like drug stores snd grocery checkout lines. Comics were everywhere when I was a kid. And they disappeared when I had children.

With marketing WB probably has close to $300M invested in this thing. It's wild to me that studios keep making movies like this that anyone can see from a mile away is going to bomb.

Why would I have an agenda about a show I don't care about, as I respond to a poster so dedicated to participating in all the negativity farming this board loves so much? My agenda is not hating everything until I actually see it, which I know is super crazy around here. Sometimes it's not assuming shite sight unseen, which is exactly what you've done.

It is clear that some character played by Laura Linney wouldn't mind Stewart stealing the ring. It is not clear that stealing a ring happens. The second teaser is very obviously meant to establish a contentious relationship between Stewart and Jordan, but is incredibly vague about what is actually happening. And it features almost none of the plot teased on the first one, which could indicate that much of the second teaser comes from a limited portion of the show.

I'm not surprised it did poorly but I really felt like a 4th of July weekend would have generated more sales for a traditionally family oriented superhero. I think it must be getting killed by poor word of mouth

It’s not a traditionally family oriented superhero movie, Einstein.

And that was evident from the end of Gunn’s Superman.

Yeah

I think that's the fundamental problem. The people that typically go to see Superman or Supergirl movies have expectations of a heroic central character with a positive world outlook.

Drunken and amoral doesn't sell to families. And they failed to pick up the Barbie audience because she's also not Barbie.
