Variety called it the worst script they ever read. Good luck calling Variety misogynist. I think this movie might just suck enough to kill the Gunn DC universe.
apparently Grace Randolph said the hamfisted Feminist Manifesto messages sucked the air out of the room

Grace Randolph. . .

. . .mad about feminist themes

Wow.

This movie is changing lives

Stop hiring people who don't understand/care about the comics, for frick's sake.

Here's the part where I tell you that hiring people that actively don't get/don't want to get, the comic book is the point of all of this.

The writer must be a Christian dad with how he's making fun of her looks.

This just sucks as a DC fan. I was hoping they could do something with these characters but I now have zero faith in Gunn and his vision

I hope they fire him as soon as this Paramount deal goes through. Hell, let him resign in protest over Paramount/Ellison so he can save face. Just get him out

They aren't really interested in your fandom though, and I mean that broadly. What you want to see, what you expect to see from these studios - they have no interest in giving you that thing.

Marvel is the same. They had a time when they were, but that was finished with Endgame.

WB/DC have just chosen people to "do something different," just to be different. Man of Steel even, even if you liked it, wasn't really Superman. Not really.. There would good pieces of it, but did it REALLY reflect the comic books?

Is there a DC guy out there that you think would be a good fit?

He would likely not accept the demotion but Gunn might be okay for the weird minor character types if Clayface were good.

I don't see how he fits for the heroic tropes he despises in characters like Superman, Supergirl, or Wonder Woman. That's apparently not stuff he can do

Here is the long awaited Angry Joe review, after Joe has been sperging out on any Youtuber or streamer that suggested the movie was going to be bad. . .I mean a week long meltdown over it:

All Grace Randolph had to do was comb her hair and put on a Supergirl top and she looks better than Millie Alcock.

Same going to see it tomorrow. I don't understand making an opinion on something without experiencing it yourself.

Movies I liked so far this summer:
Masters of The Universe (bombed sadly)
Sheep Detective
Mortal Kombat II

Meh:
In the Grey
Mandolorian and Grogu (better than 2 of the sequels worse than every other sw film)

Didn't like:

Scary Movie
Disclosure Day

I don't consider myself a Mario/ Nintendo fan but I did see the first one in theater. It was decent enough. Figured it hit all the fan service marks. But the build up for Galaxy and subsequent mild reception kept me from bothering with this one. Even Brie Larson was getting praise going into this movie, and it made for a nice comeback story of sorts.

So the kid class didn't even care for this?

The only thing this movie did for me was to make me go “wow they got 7/11s in outer space”.

MY REVIEW (Maybe spoilers)

This movie is not dogshit, but it felt like rushed "content"

It was so boring that I ended up checking my phone

Theater was about 1/3rd full

Jason Mamoa was fine as Lobo, not as great as I'd thought

The Ruby girl was a better actress than Milly, and I like Milly as an actress.

This role was way too big for her. Her attempts at angst looked like "bored"

She couldn't deliver the edgy, nor the wit

She makes Supergirl look like a pathetic loser (standard Tom King frickery)

Reviewers were right, Krem, the villain was pathetic.

So god damn dark, too. WTF was up with the lighting?

Dialogue, action, and pacing were a total jumbled mess

Tom King helped kill DC comics, now he has come for the Gunn-iverse

I saw a few reviews saying the lighting is terrible. They said the comic is full of color yet the movie has zero color in it. Just so dumb
