It did so well they completely gave up on the Justice League.
Well that was already decided before Aquaman came out since they started green lighting projects like Joker.
It looks like there is going to be a Gotham universe, with crossovers that way, and Im sure as long as the solo projects continue to do well, they will revisit Justice League once they have all the parts in place. Its a much better idea than what they originally had
Speaking of Justice League, I was listening to the latest podcast from Kevin Smith yesterday, and he said he spent some time recently in London on the Star Wars set, and he was talking to a lot of the crew, and Justice League came up, and they were saying that there were story boards drawn by Jim Lee that outlined Snyder's plan. It was a trilogy.
Justice League's finished product looked nothing like what Snyder envisioned. The Snyder ending had the team defeating Steppenwolf and then Darksied appears from a boom tube, and they fight him, and he disappears back into the tube. Also, the scene in the trailers where Alfred is in the Batcave and speaks to someone off camera was originally supposed to be Green Lantern. They had green lights set up for it.
The second movie was the League following Darkseid back to Apoklips and fighting there with the Green Lantern Corps, but ultimately losing, and Darkseid coming back to earth and destroying it.
The third movie is on earth and its basically the dream sequence that Batman had in BvS.
I forgot a lot, but that was the basic gist of it all.

They gave up on Justice League as soon as they saw that it was going to make less money than their other DCEU movies. Aquaman was their confirmation that they were headed in the right direction.
I don't mind missing out on JL2 if we're getting this instead:
Shazam! – April 5, 2019.
Birds of Prey – February 7, 2020.
Wonder Woman 1984 – June 5, 2020.
DC Super Pets – May 21, 2021.
The Batman – June 25, 2021.
The Suicide Squad – August 6, 2021.

No Flash movie?
Warner is terrible about keeping their people quiet. If we were going to get a Flash movie anytime soon I think we'd hear about it. There's more buzz about New Gods getting made, and Gotham Sirens and Batgirl.

Ezra Miller was a mistake.
No one is making a museum to his Flash. He isn't going to be a time traveling god or soul of the league. His rogues aren't going to make a charter and police themselves while still being ruthless threats. He's not redeeming any of his villains.

what Kevin Smith says he saw on the storyboard is similar to what was filmed originally for Justice League but with some huge differences (darkseid was never on earth, only glimpsed, the green lantern corps approaches Superman in the post credit scene, and the history lesson scene was twice as long).
It very much set up the next 5 years of of the DCEU. And then WB went cuck mode and hired Joss Whedon who honestly caught lightning in a bottle with The Avengers under heavy supervision and has done a whole lot of meh since.

Maybe they’ll get someone to actually play his character instead of just playing will smith in a red suit.
He was the weakest part of that movie outside of some even weaker plot points (like forgetting to actually introduce your throw away character before throwing him away with a quick death)

are they going to get another black guy?
Posted on 2/27/19 at 8:48 pm to finchmeister08
Could easily just get anyone they want and have him keep his mask on like intended

I never thought that he'd be back, once Gunn said that he'd be going with a fresh team.
Harley, maybe.
Deadshot, nah.

Idris Elba in Talks to Replace Will Smith in 'Suicide Squad' Sequel
quote:
Sources say that Elba met with Gunn on Friday and it went so swimmingly that talks began with the studio in earnest. Elba was the first and only choice for Gunn and the studio. Warners is extremely high on The Suicide Squad and its script, written by Gunn, so much so that the project is barrelling forward into the casting stage after Gunn quickly turned out several drafts. Before his boarding, the project ambled for a couple of years with a revolving door of writers and directors.

Massive improvement

Holy shite how about just dont have fricking Deadshot if Will Smith doesn't want to do it?
You don't need a name actor for him b/c the dude is supposed to wear a fricking mask 99% of the time.

The source books aren’t exactly dissimilar and doing a Guardians movie as a Suicide Squad movie would be an improvement on the last Suicide Squad movie.
The main difference in the two squads is that the Guardians tend to be on the borderline between heroes and screwups while the Suicide Squad is about 95% true crooks / sociopaths with a few commanders who aren’t boobytrapped like Rick Flag, Bronze Tiger, and Vixen.
Massive turnover in the cast is par for the course in both books.
