The easiest way to tell the difference between Succession and Billions is to watch the two scenes where characters are served ortolan.

He's fricking her over. Getting her to leave advising the politician that is against him, burn her bridges, which she has...and now he will keep her occupied for a year and have a plan B. He's putting Kendall in charge bc he can be the most controlled.
I also think that despite everything, he didn't want to have to use the blackmail he has on her. Getting her in the company and away from politics absolves him of that.
I do want to see one of those kids go after Marsha for being such a busy-body shrew.

Agreed. Billions tries way too hard. It wants to be what Succession so easily is.
I love this show. I don’t think I really got into it until halfway through the first season, so I didn’t pay much attention to the earlier episodes. Hyped for a season 1 rewatch.
