That episode sucked balls for a series finale. Good lord some bad writing. The meal fit for a king scene was the worse scene in the entire series. Very disappointed and underwhelmed.

I get that Shiv flip-flops, but she goes from telling Tom to F off with camera angles that are all power move “woman scorned” close ups to throwing her brother under the bus for no apparent reason other than “you’d suck at it.” It makes no sense at all. Very poorly executed

The writing for Kendall has been so up and down. He gives that powerful speech at the funeral and then in the board meeting he’s back to “What’s up guys? So yeah uh, vote no, right? Because like, the deal’s bad and it’s not ya know, uh, good or whatever.”
Have you watched the entire show or just this season? The entire show has been each of the kids having their glorious moments only to be undone by their glaring flaws.

Yeah it was terrible. Manufactured drama that didn’t make any sense. The scene with Kendall screaming and getting physical with Roman and Shiv was a disaster and the writers should be embarrassed for doing that after four seasons of pretty good tv.

It’s like you don’t understand Film as a storytelling device.
The shots, blocking, and angles give the viewer the message that she is resolute in her disgust with Mattson and Tom. There is no visual indication that she has even thought about changing her mind after agreeing to Kendall being CEO. Hence, it’s a bait and switch meant to dupe the audience cheaply.

Kind of funny that Shiv sold Mattsson on Tom at the beginning of the episode by talking up what a yes man he would be.
That was brutal for Kendall. All the kids lose but that was a life defining defeat for Kendall.

I think there's one. She looks pretty grossed out when Kendall props his feet onto the desk talking to Stewie.
Whether that's enough visual suggestion is up to the viewer.

It’s something I noticed throughout the series. Like Kendall doesn’t know what his own personality is. The other siblings didn’t have that, they were pretty consistent throughout the show.
But Kendall went from future CEO, to burnout, to lackey, to sexual pioneer on drugs, to whistleblower, to passing out in the pool, then back to future CEO, to bumbling idiot and finally assaulting his brother screaming Vote for meee! He was so up and down throughout the series it was hard to pin down who the real Kendall was.

No. Just no. Way too subtle after screaming “MFer” about Mattson and “F you” to Tom. It’s just crappy writing meant to get a cheap twist at the end.
They didn’t stick the landing tonight. Such a shame. This finale is going to age like a package of American cheese.

Again, Shiv is notorious for being flaky when it comes to big moments.
I mean for fricks sake, she tried to sell an open marriage to her husband on the eve of their wedding because she couldn’t fully commit.
She’s the Queen of shite like that.

You don't have to like it, but she certainly made a face. I didn't say it was enough. You said there was none. There was at least one. Certainly subtle.
I agree that they made her look pretty resolute at the apartment. No denying that.

OMG Teddy. You and I are on two different wavelengths. Lol.
Finale aside:
WTF happened to the Pierce acquisition? Do the kids still own that? Did I miss it going away? The writers seemed to have completely forgotten about that.

Pierce was the play when the kids were going to take the money from the Gojo sale. Instead they chose to "frick the deal" and stay at Waystar.
Once keeping control of Waystar died, there is no triumvirate to buy Pierce anymore. It's dead. Shiv obviously wouldn't use her money for that now, they hate each other, etc. Logan wanted Pierce but we never had a discussion about Mattson wanting it from what I recall.

I understand you completely. I'm providing what people saw as a counter. You don't have to like it. I'm not sure it was enough for me either in the moment. If the call to Tom on the jet about the relationship had happened after she found out about him being the CEO, then that probably would have been better for me. The writers probably think it was a big enough hint that she could go back to Tom, but the order they gave it makes it seem that was erased.

the mother’s house is in bimini in the bahamas
kendall wanted the affirmation desperately and shiv was not going to be the one to give it to him
tom makes perfect sense as the empty suit pin cushion for matsson
greg fricked himself by playing both sides one too many times
my wife was losing her mind in the office scene, all kendall could do was talk about himself. she said why doesnt he remind shiv that matsson used her and tossed her aside and he would give her ATN
when kendall lied about the waiter he was done, that was the final straw
tom wins because he is a known commodity that is useful to power, matsson didnt want a partner

Bingo Teddy. Thx.
I’m going to put the Pierce deal in the same category as the Gojo numbers. A big plot point shoved aside when it’s no longer convenient to the plot.

Was it ever said before on the show that Kendall’s two kids might not biologically he his?
I don’t think we ever saw this for more than a second this year, but they certainly could pass for half white, half Indian kids imo.

I think it was supposed to be Bimini. Someone said “Bim” at some point.
