Yeah it feels like they are setting up alter egos or transformations post Logan. Shiv and Rome transitioning from bad to good, Ken going in the opposite direction.

They're certainly setting it up that way. The show has always been about Kendall for the most part. It would make sense to have him in control in the end. A week ago I didn't think that would be much of an ending, I thought it would feel anti-climactic. Now it seems like maybe they're setting up a more realistic way for him to end on top.
He's putting together a team around him and making sure they understand their place. And he seemed to have changed his way of dealing with his brother. It felt more like the way Logan would beat Roman down and then pick him back up. He definitely didn't treat Roman like an equal at the end of the episode.
My guess is that Ken's reverse viking is effective. GoJo's stock price drops giving Ken the power to go for another bear hug, a little throwback to season 1.
I think Tom makes a move and ends up as COO. Greg probably has enough info to give the two of them leverage for Ken to use.

It is pointing his direction. Remember, Logan had custody of the children. I think that was an important detail in the episode.

I think he gets the top but ends up hating himself for it, show could end with him crying all alone or something.

I think I might wait to rewatch this episode after the finale to try to catch any foreshadowing especially in the Ewan and Kendall’s eulogies.

Honestly, Roman should just go join a bridge club. His career is over. He didn't have to be good. He just had to stand up and stand tall.
Anything after that terrible brother speech would have been a victory lap.
Some people are too small for big moments. If it's Kendall, so be it, but he seemed just as goofy as Roman. Nothing about him strikes me as "extraordinary leader".

Yeah a couple weeks ago when he was listening to Takeover in the limo it reminded me of the first scene of the show.

I don’t see how the finale tops this episode to be honest. Just an amazing combination of the fricked up bond the kids have with each other while also trying to out maneuver each other.

It doesn’t have to subvert expectations.
The show is titled succession. The show started with Ken the presumptive heir. No reason the show itself couldn’t be Ken’s journey from not being a killer and not a serious person to the guy finally worthy of the crown. Maybe it was always Ken’s story and the other characters are just a part of it.
THIS Ken would 110% be Logan’s pick, he just couldn’t be this Ken in the shadow of Logan while he was alive.
