I loved episode 2, Tom and Greg were great and shite's hitting the fan. One of my favorite episodes I can remember.
I thought maybe I was overreacting after watching it Sunday but it's been a couple days now and I do think this was one of the best episodes in the series.

I paused it hoping there was still 45 mins left and it was almost over. That's when I know it's good.

So do we think Tom was just fricking with Greg about the cameras? Hahah

They have to purposely blowing up the deal for whatever reason. I mean Kendall and Shiv both know that asking for more money has a high probability of backfiring. And Roman does too but he’s to weak to say anything so he just goes along with it.
Maybe they think if the deal falls through they can somehow find their way back into the company. Especially if they can pin it on Logan to the shareholders as the reason the deal fell through.

That’s the only thing I can assume is their end game here.
I also can’t help but feel like they purposefully had that discussion in front of Connor knowing he’d tell Logan.

Btw that speech that Logan gave at atn was friggin awesome. It starts off and you think he’s just going to be the same old a-hole but then you are wanting to run through a wall for him
That was the first time that I feel like we saw the rallying the troops quality that built an empire

Episode 2 was fantastic all around.
I really hope that Greg is the only winner when this wraps up.

That was a GREAT fricking episodes
Not news but the kids are idiots and Logan is right, they aren't serious people and have no clue what they are doing
It also, especially in the first half, may have been one of the funniest episodes they've ever had

Doing a rewatch of S1 while also watching this season. I’ve vacillated but Logan is my favorite character of the show.

So there’s a theory out there that Shiv (the character not the actress) may be pregnant.
This article covers it in more detail but here’s the tidbits:
- Shiv doing some trademark belly touching in scenes (she was also pregnant IRL during shooting I believe so could be related to that).
- When the siblings are all drinking at karaoke, she goes with a seltzer water and briefly thought about red wine (ok in small amounts in pregnancy).
- She had the convo with Tom about trying to have a kid in the previous season. And her Mom basically told her she shouldn’t have kids, which means she would almost certainly want to get pregnant because someone told her not to.

I hate Logan. Kendall is the only character I still somewhat like.

They’re not serious because they get gaslit and sabotaged by their father every step of the way.
That scene is Logan looking in a mirror seeing his worst attributes reflected back at him.
His discovery:
He isn’t a serious person either.
How many promises has he broken to his children? To others? How many times has he strung people along only to tell them to F off?
Serious people have some level of integrity. Logan has none.

Spare me.
They are adults.
Adults with billions of dollars.
They want to earn his respect and also earn a little self respect?
Try to do something on their own.
They get to stand on third base thinking they hit a triple because of Logan. He knows that but they don’t realize that (outside of Roman IMO). Collectively they can use all the jargon they want and try to follow all the trends they want but they will never successfully run something. They are given the minimal amount of respect by those around them solely because of who Logan is and what Logan did.
Example of the third base thinking they hit a triple is the whole pierce deal.
Quote Kendall “it’s tvs politics and media-which we know”…. do they? Logan knows those things. Shiv has shown poor instincts left and right in politics and related media (trying to soften ATN) Kendall the entire time has been trying to get waystar out of tvs/media. His first thought on pierce was to focus it on African politics and international issues. while Roman gets politics particularly as it relates to media (his choice for Mencken solely revolves around controversy for television eyeballs) he tries to avoid inter family controversy so avoids making tough decisions
)

Logan is a serious person he is just not a moral person. He started at home plate and hit a grand slam. He built an empire from the ground up. He can use his empire to create and build up friends or crush his enemies. He can pick the President. He can start wars. To quote Tom when Kendall is ineffectually trying to oust his dad yet again “you wanna know what they are doing? They are up there picking the next President”
What he says matters and people take seriously. He may use this to lie and manipulate but nonetheless what he says is taken seriously because he earned that respect. Unlike the kids.
He may not be a moral person but he is a serious person worthy of respect.

Just because he’s formidable doesn’t mean he’s serious.
Serious people make the effort to make sure their children can take over the empires they’ve built.
He’s not serious about anything that matters. This guy was doing so badly in the 80s, he leveraged his entire company’s worth on a bad loan so he could expand into amusement parks, risking his children’s inheritance and future well-being.
He’s so petty, he locks his own daughter out of being able to find a decent divorce attorney.
He’s not serious. He's just plain mean.
It’s easy to sit back and criticize the kids and say that they’re adults, but I wager most of us have never lived with a narcissistic, abusive parent like that. It’s hard to say, “Screw you, Dad, I’m going out on my own,” when that means total and complete ostracism from the family unit and all of that money.
