Same. And I’ll try to avoid spoilers until Sunday or so. After the blitz of turkey and football.

Just finished episode 1.

How am I supposed to reconcile that the military is smart enough to operate a field office/lab in the upside down but so totally inept that they cannot find Eleven in a quarantined Hawkins in 1.5 years when she is just hanging out with Hopper, her adoptive father, and Joyce Byers, who she lived with for a period of time, on Hopper's property?

Am I just supposed to assume that the military has no idea who any of Eleven's friends and family are?

Enjoyed episode one. The age thing is distracting honestly but really only for Lucas and Holly.

The Hawkins jocks really are fine just beating people to a pulp. Since last season they’ve just been like “Yea we don’t care if we kill people.” Kind of rough for high school students.

Intrigued by Holly’s imaginary friend.

Looks like my Elle being able to fly theory might pan out.

Good question

They seem to have some pretty solid hiding spots at the cabin but yea, seems like they would be keeping a close eye on Joyce and Hop and find Elle fairly easy if they just have her out in the open so much like they do. Especially since the black guy is still running the operation, he was pretty tough.

Just going to have to write that off as “We have to have our main character in there’s going to be some plot holes.”

Maybe but the bullies in the first season were literally about to force Mike to jump off a cliff in order for them to stop cutting Dustin's face

They also allow children to spy on their main base from a damn watchtower unnoticed, repeatedly, including during operations where they're opening up a portal to hell. During which they abandon surveillance on the left, right and back of their convoys

What’s the report on Nancy? Is she fire this season?
Last season she was getting criticism for weight loss, possibly gaunt appearance, and how I sawed off shotgun should have sent her 50 yards backwards

Finished up episode 4 just now and it's been a pretty solid start minus the military being incompetent but whatever. Want to avoid spoilers until at least Friday but will say once again Steve and Robin are my favorite parts. The real surprise has been Will probably because he finally has something to do and he's not just some plot device. The new kid is ok I guess hopefully he gets better as the story moves along. Bunch of crazy shite going on in episode 4 which has me very optimistic for the final four episodes. Going to be a bit of wait might just wait until new years Eve and binge them all then

Only watched the first two episodes but does everyone else hate maya hawkes character? Annoying yapper. Plus she sounds like a chain smoker

Same. Just finished 2 and Maya Hawke looks like a meth head. The whole cast looks pretty rough, actually. These people need to get the hell away from each other when this is all finished.

I like it so far. Yeah, it's pretty non-stop death and darkness (with a couple of lesbian breaks) so far but it's structured pretty well. I don't know if this pace will work non-stop for 6 more episodes, but we'll see.

I don’t mind her. Not my favorite character but don’t hate her.

She certainly got her mom’s genes though. She looks straight up like a 20 year old Uma Thurman. I just recently found out it was their kid and now all I can think about during her scenes is how much she looks and sounds like her mom.

I've seen this theory floating around that the whole show was a D&D campaign and it ends with them still as kids sitting in Mike's basement playing.

Yeah there’s no way that’s the ending.

Would almost be like when my wife drug me to see the last Twilight movie and the epic last fight scene was all a vision… fricking stupid

Sure, if she'd lost 50 lbs and became a meth head.

yeah they really do. All of them. Especially the older siblings. They all look like they’ve been doing hard drugs for a while. Only person who has looked the same throughout is Joe Keery

Just finished.

Not really sure what angle they are trying to take for Dustin this season. Seems unnecessary. Other than that and them bringing back goth emo sister from S2, I’ve enjoyed so far. Liked how they brought Max back in. Was a good setup for the 2nd half of the season.

Kinda meh, no real charismatic like Billy or Eddie to be the icing. It has potential to close really well, but I think breaking it up was a bad idea. Should have been all the episodes BUT the finale. If people sour on it it's not going for driving viewership,

enjoyed Will being more than a victim, good arc and needed.

and how they included Max in the story so far.

Ep2 start was intense and going with the wine bottle instead of a kichten knife was cool.

I'm enjoying S5, can't wait for more.

Eta. And God dam Jesus Christ most of the posts are like reading critic reviews. It's just a TV show lol.
