re: Stranger Things Season 4 official discussion thread. (Spoilers)

Just finished the season, the final two episodes were pretty damn solid I know there was no major death outside of Eddie but the consequences are still there. Hawkins is pretty much done for and who knows what’s going to come of the upside down being open to the real world like it is now. Not a fan of the fake out death but there’s a possibility that the Max we saw in a coma isn’t even Max. Feels like Will will be a major player moving forward with his connections to the Mind Flayer. Also really starting to think Eleven will die next season also could see Jonathan dying as well and Max revealed to have been dead the entire time and the Mind Flayer or Vecna taking her body

Just finished the last episode and I'm not really a fan of the "Two Days Later" bit and everything that came after it.

The tonal shift was quite jarring, and I think it would have been a more powerful ending to the season to end it right before that, and then the last 30-40min could have been the opening of next season.

ETA: Also, I'm curious what changed with the portals at the end. Vecna needed to kill four people to open the portals in Hawkins. Once Eleven brought Max back to life (well, brought her back to life and into a coma), the portals closed. But then at the very end, the portals had reopened.

I highly doubt they were suggesting that Max had died since we last saw her in the hospital, so I'm curious why the portals started to reopen.

ETA 2: And those blue lights they were carrying around Vecna's house...were those portable bug zappers?

I enjoyed the last two episodes but for some reason I can't get dread out of my head with how long it's going to take them to get a S5 out.

There was about 2 years and 11 months between S3 and S4. Practically 3 years. It took The Boys 1 year and 9 months to get their S3 out.

It sucks to think about a three year wait to get the last season. Hell, if they make the final season bigger than this one, is it outside the realm of possibility it takes loner than 3 years?

I thought the last episode suffered from some technical decisions. It had too many fade to black, that made the “2 days later” even more annoying. It was entirely anticlimactic with the ending.

Having said that it was still awesome and they set the next season very effectively.

The sequence with everyone in their individual struggles with the Kate Bush remix playing was so damn good

Goddamn I love this show

If they stick the ending, I have this I my top 3-5 shows all-time. Just hits every note right with me.
