That requires intelligent and thoughtful writers.
Which this show is very obviously lacking.

I called it the Star Trek Acolyte but it’s much worse than that.

Lol pretty much. This show is uniquely bad in that it’s release is January yet It’ll probably make it through the entire year as the worst show made in 2026.

Kurtzman admitted this years ago. He said he only wants to use Star Trek as a vehicle to push political messaging. He was not vague or subtle, he came out and said it.
They also don't mind losing money because they get more than enough from China and the ME for the 'messaging.'
And it's a great excuse for being a talentless hack. "No, I MEANT to suck."

Destroying cultural markers and touchstones is orgasmic to POS like those two. It’s their greatest tribute to their INSOC overlords.

They really missed a chance to make her a minority and hit the DEI hole in one.

As a non fan of the seeies ( mainly because i just havent watched it)
It's not that bad. Theres some cringey girl boss stuff but it fails and the super tall muscular lead runs circles around them all mentally, all with the attitude of a typical teenage black kid.
It honestly comes off to me as and wqtxhes like a 90s WB show with modern CGI. I dont hate it.

‘Star Trek’s Alex Kurtzman: “We’re Not Slowing Down On Representation In Any Way
Star Trek is expanding into the world of younger characters later this week (January 15) with the debut of Starfleet Academy, a series focusing on the prospective next class of Starfleet captains and crew. And if you’re worried about whether the series will continue to push forward Gene Roddenberry’s vision of an inclusive future? Then Star Trek boss Alex Kurtzman has a few words on the matter.
Nobody was afraid of this, at all.

Ya, I think you were being kind of hard on The Acolyte with that one.

You're the target audience..Don't take this the wrong way but your ignorance of the 60 years of the series is what the suits are hoping watches because the current showrunners are actively trying to retcon the history that exists.

Holly Hunter Seems Like a Deranged Muppet...
If you thought Holly Hunter couldn't get more annoying from the first episode of Starfleet Academy, episode three would fix that assumption for you. What was with her constant "posing"? Everywhere she went she was striking oddly Muppet-like poses on couches of one sort or another.
What was this behavior supposed to be? It truly made her look mentally unstable. If her mushmouth, loose false teeth delivery of her lines wasn't bad enough, this strange behavior just makes no sense. What do they think they are doing with her constant jumping around from chair to chair, spinning around like she's a five-year-old, and striking all these goofy, child-like poses? It's just impossible to figure out what this is supposed to be. Do they think this is endearing behavior for her character, or something? Is that what Kursedman thinks he's doing? Making her endearing?

Woke + garbage is no way to make a show.
This is inexcusable.
The Drumhead
How this got through editing, 21 or 24 producers & onto the final product in staggering. Worse than a bottle of water or a Starbucks cup in Game of Thrones.
This show is made by retards, for retards.

Key takeaways
The latest episode of Starfleet Academy attempted to honor Star Trek: The Next Generation by quoting an iconic line from Captain Picard, but the holographic Doctor mangled the quote, omitting a significant portion of it.
The Doctor's misquotation of the famous line from TNG episode "The Drumhead" not only failed to pay proper homage to the original scene but also revealed a lack of understanding of the quote's significance, undermining the attempt to reassure fans of the show's creative roots.
The scene in Starfleet Academy where the Doctor quotes Judge Aaron Satie's words from TNG as a debate prompt not only featured a significant error in the quote but also showcased a lack of consistency and understanding of the source material, disappointing fans of the iconic series.

Ok the new episode is BAD. Like I feel like MST3K needs to have an episode trash talking this B movie of an episode. ...
The good, New Orleans still exist and Sisko was in team Tomato in the Gumbo debate. .(creole rules)..
Sysko is mentioned a lot he's practically a deity.
. The episode centers on the odd hologram girl.
But it's hard to describe how untrek this is. In the first few minutes. There were cartoony font text popping up to make The hologram's points.
.
It was bad. Like hard to describe bad. I was drawn in with the Sisko and New Orleans mentions but little happens. .
Oh and the gay guy alien vomits glitter if he eats a banana.

Fabulous!!
Sounds like they used Sisko as a bait to lure in DS9 fans while going thuper gay and featuring the hologram’s story. Which is completely retarded. A society of sentient holograms? That doesn’t make any sense!

Oh the sensitive Klingon wears skirts when he goes to the club. And the Hologram gets a program that let's her get drunk and she beats up some Asians.
Also she's in a one person band class where she plays the Theramin even though a a hologram she shouldn't be able to.
