Big fan of the Last Jedi, eh?
I can't imagine anyone but TLJ fans rooting for ROS to do poorly. ROS is far from TLJ by design.
The only reason to want it to do poorly is to get Disney to go back to the TLJ mold.
Hated TLJ, refuse to see anything in theaters until a change is made at the top

Edited to remove spoilers:
Saw it yesterday. There were some things I questioned about it that didn't seem to make much sense, but all in all it was entertaining and brought the trilogy to a solid enough close.
I wasn't sure how I would like it. But all in all, I did. I'm not overly crazy about this trilogy, but after rewatching TFA and TLJ in the last week, and now seeing ROS, I appreciate this trilogy more than I did before.
This movie "felt like Star Wars" to me, and that's a good thing.

Dude, this one is for non-spoilers.

shite, I didn't realize that. I saw spoilers in the first post on this page (I see now that they are TLJ spoilers though).
My apologies, and I will keep my shite in the other thread.

Monday is also looking weak. This thing is barely going to hit 500mil, domestically.

Where do you see Monday's early predictions? I just searched 5 sites and saw nothing.

How about reveal Snoke as being alive and he was just using a clone that they “killed” instead? That’s just one quick possibility.
Clearly the plan wasn’t to bring back the empower in the first place given what’s been revealed by McDiarmid recently.

I answered this question for you earlier in the thread. Use Reddit and twitter.
Anyways the Monday was around 15.

Honestly, that's not a bad showing. It's slightly off TLJ, but has made up a little ground.
In the wake of all the TLJ controversy and only a 55% positive on Rotten Tomatoes with critics, on pace with TLJ isn't bad. If it sustains a little better than TLJ and outpaces TLJ, Disney is probably happy with that, given that's pushing close to alltime top 10.

No

Why wouldnt they be happy with that? That would be around 1.5 billion. I have not kept up with this at all and fell asleep during the movie, so im not arguing it, but that would be top 10 all time.

It won’t come close to 1.5 bil. It’ll finish somewhere between 1-1.5 billion

Got ya. So thats maybe top 20, yea I can see that being a disappointment. What was the pre-release projection?

It's very close to The Last Jedi, which made 1.3 billion. If it passes 1.21 bil, it hits top 20 all time.
This Forbes article put 1.6 billion as a higher end and 770 mil as a low end, so being 1.2 to 1.3 would be in the middle.
Edit: Damn, don't think that link copied. I'll copy the relevant paragraph.
"For reference, the “worst case scenario” guestimate ($770 million) and the “best case scenario” guestimate ($1.684 billion) averages out to around $1.227 billion worldwide."

Yeah, I couldn't figure it out, so I just copied in the paragraph.

Yeah, I saw it afterwards. I've had that issue with Forbes articles as well.

I’m assuming it is a Scott article from Forbes. Dude is a straight apologist for starwars and has been for awhile now. Disney will in no way be happy with 1 bil for the finale of a main sw trilogy with zero competition. This thing has no shot at 1.5. It has under performed every day except for the Christmas bump. It’s going to continue to drop.
