My statement was in response to that article, not your post, you were just the last post.

Another strong day, domestically. It's dropping fast, internationally.

From Deadline

quote:

Another big day for Disney’s Star Wars: Rise of Skywalker with a Dec. 26 estimated gross of $30.7M, -4% from Christmas Day. Industry sources are forecasting that through the ninth-quel’s first ten days by Sunday, the J.J. Abrams directed movie will hit $380.9M, pacing 3% ahead of Last Jedi at the same point in time. Pretty impressive for a pic we dinged for having a slow start. Skywalker‘s Dec. 26 bests that of Last Jedi‘s ($27.7M) and is just under Rogue One‘s $32M which was on the Monday after a Christmas Sunday.

Strong $30.5M THU for #StarWarsTheRiseofSkywalker + $24.4M from intl mkts for global gross of $54.9M. New #boxoffice cumes are $289.7M domestic, $282.3M intl and $572M worldwide. Will break $600M today.

A lot of the gurus are predicting a big drop this weekend, domestically. Early numbers look weak for a Friday.

Woof...Friday looking bad. 25 mil or so. That's horrible for its second Friday.

Are you really surprised that it’s dropping after Christmas with such bad reviews?

Not exactly. I thought it would do a bit better than this. Weekend could turn out to be about 70 mil. That's a large drop.

I’m not sure why people got excited with the Christmas bump. This movie is about to drop off a cliff.

It will drop but linger. I wish it and Jumanji had swapped release dates.

Early Saturday estimates aren’t great, either. $70M weekend in play

It dropped less than TLJ in its second weekend. About 12% less.

Will cross $1B, sadly. Somewhere around $1.05B is my estimate

A billion is a given at this point. If China gave a damn about Star Wars it would be flirting with $900 million already.

Edit: I misread your quote. Sorry bud.
But the opening was much lower, so that’s not unexpected.

Big fan of the Last Jedi, eh?

I can't imagine anyone but TLJ fans rooting for ROS to do poorly. ROS is far from TLJ by design.

The only reason to want it to do poorly is to get Disney to go back to the TLJ mold.

Are you just trying to act cool, or do you really believe that? It will easily hit 1 bill worldwide in two weeks.
