This is my biggest question. What are they even concluding?

There are no lingering questions or cliffhangers to carry over from TLJ. Surely it won’t take all 2 hours for them to conclude Rey vs. Kylo, because there really isn’t anything of substance there for us to be captivated by.

Reviving the Emperor because Rian Johnson killed the dude that was supposed to be the big new villain just proves they had nowhere to go. What an absolute waste.

This. They must first create some conflict to have a resolution. Maybe it will be the defeat of the empire, which already happened in return of the jedi. maybe it will be the death of the emperor, which already happened in return if the jedi. maybe it will be ren defeating kylo, which already happened in tfa and tlj.

I made a ban bet that Episode 9 would top a billion, even if it is garbage. The name still carries weight, and many fans will see it because they feel like they have to. . .just like my wife with all those Saw, Purge, and Step Up movies.

People feel obligated in a "yeah. . .let's just get this over with" sorta way.

I hope it's good. Then I will stream it on D+. Not going to see it in the theaters

Yeah they did.

And unfortunate. Ron Howard deserves better. He at least gave a shite about the characters.

If Han Solo is a force ghost, the universe is shattered.

Even more shattered than Ghost Yoda interacting with the material plane.

That’s the point, Rian fricked the franchise up so much they have no choice but to conclude the franchise. I seriously doubt JJ and Kasdan wrote episode 7 with the thought process that Episode 9 would be the conclusion of the Skywalker Saga.

Rey was clearly suppose to have some relation to Luke - whether it was as his child or as a young pupil he felt a connection to that he hid away when Ben and the Knights went HAM. Then the whole debacle with Luke. You know what, I’m not going down that dumpster again.

At least The Mandalorian is great.

Disney lost 50 to 80 million on Solo and canceled all their adjacent Star Wars story films. I would say that fans clearly punished Disney and they responded to the punishment.

Yea the prescreening was so bad people walked out. Iger demanded immediate reshoots and asked Lucas to step in.

And that was a few weeks ago

Just google Skywalker prescreening reshoots

There are articles all over the internet - some even step through the leaks of the plot and they were lulz worthy to say the least

All I see is from 'we got this covered' which is a laughable website. Anything more concrete than that?

Each video shows articles and walks through the leaks. They're pretty consistent and stupid.

The hope is Lucas was able to salvage what was already filmed.

They lost much more than that on Solo. Low end estimates put it at $150 million. That’s direct revenue. They lost even more when you factor in not being able to make a sequel to it had it been successful.

I don’t put a lot of stock into what test audiences feel about a movie. Every time I read how they feel about a movie, I generally find I feel the opposite about the movie.

Just remember that test audiences loved TLJ and gave it some of the highest scores ever for a test screening. It’s usually Los Angeles/New York area fart sniffers that think they know better that do these test screenings. That’s the pool you’re getting scores/info from so keep that in mind.

The Skywalker saga ended with a whimper in episode 8.

Unless they are going to CGI Leia Poppins the the entire film

In the first video you linked, homeboy shows stills of previous Star Wars movies, not articles. He does not a single time provide a source of his info. He does frequently make assumptions about what Kathleen Kennedy, who I'm now learning is the sole writer of this next movie, is thinking.

He also says, "If you grew up with the prequels, you most certainly loved the Palpatine lightsaber action." He's really got his idiot finger on the pulse of his generation.
