Damn. I was wrong. 
Another point to make is that do we know it is Kylo Ren looking at Vader's helmet himself or is it just a voice over? I know he is talking as if he is speaking to Vader or Palpatine, but does the scene actually show him staring at the helmet?
I've only seen the trailer once so I honestly don't know.

They make it seem like he's talking to it, but they do cuts like this in trailers all the time.. So maybe, maybe not

The Illuminati weirdos are going to go ape shite over the fact that they're all covering one eye.
Other than that, Carrie Fisher looks like Bruce Jenner. If she has the same marble-mouthed Botox-affected voice (which she usually does), it's going to be really really distracting.

The trailer would seem to imply that but in all the previews you never see the helmet in the same shot with anyone.

I'll admit, the first poster with Solo and his blaster pistol got me pumped almost as much as the Falcon screaming across the screen in the previews.

I don't think that's necessarily true. He burnt Vader right beside the Ewok party. I'm sure a few people took notice of it. It may not be widely known, but someone who is as obsessed with Vader as Kylo Ren is, I think he'd be able to find his corpse.

Exactly. If Luke were to go bad, he would have done it in the original trilogy. Luke going bad now is just insulting.

What if he trained a dangerous apprentice, while his own mind was sort of fricked up, telling the truth about Vader and the Emperor, and the apprentice turned bad, causing Luke to doubt himself and go into hiding?

This isn't as clear as you make it to be.
We see Kylo with his mask off (Driver) about to duel with Finn, but that doesn't make him the guy IN the mask. He could be Darth Luke's apprentice.
Also, say that he IS the same guy in the mask, this still doesn't mean that it's not Luke and the guy we see fighting Finn is a wannabe trying to follow in Luke/Vader's footsteps light a fan boy.
With JJ Abrams at the helm and no sight of luke in any of the promotional material I wouldnt count it out.
They said the moment that JJ decided to do Star Wars (he was against it at first) was when a producer asked him:
"Who is Luke Skywalker?"
Combine that with the round table discussion in 2005 with JJ Abrams and Mark Hamil it's not so far fetched.

According to Mark Hamil they were seriously thinking about doing this in the OT but ultimately decided against it.
