And now she will be trained by Luke. As it stands Kylo is no threat to her so unless something major happens to change their characters in the next movie, there won't be any tension in any type of showdown between the two.

Pretty sure we will see a more powerful Sith in the next movie, or Snoke finally reveal himself.

Saw it for the 2nd time today. Realized that when kylo Ren is trying to jedi rey's mind. He says I see you on an island surrounded by the ocean,...which is where Luke was... which makes me believe that Luke and Rey are definitely closely intertwined.

Just got back from seeing it for the first time....was anyone else really worried after about the first 15-20 minutes? Thankfully it got more and more awesome as the movie went on...crescendoing perfectly to the ending.

Huh?

At the very beginning when we first see Kylo and he does the "force freeze" of the laser, I knew this movie was going to be fricking awesome.

Yup I picked up on this the 2nd time too. And when Rey is having her premonition scene after touching the lightsaber you can hear someone whispering "you have taken your first steps into a larger world." And the voice isn't Obi Wan.

All it was, was taking plot lines and elements from the other movies and putting them in with new characters. And then still bringing back old characters. I felt nothing emotional when Han Solo died. This whole movie was a nostalgic jerk-fest. However, when compared to the prequels, it was a decent movie.

Large planet destroying machine.

Check.

Pilots going after the weak spot of said machine.

Check.

Main characters bringing down the defenses of said machine.

Check.

Robot with a message of sorts.

Check.

'Orphan" who gains force powers.

Check.

Ice planet.

Check.

Desert planet with scavengers.

Check.

Cantina scene.

Check.

Gratuitous dialogue.

All new!

It's decent. That's it.

Entertaining movie. The third death star was lame. Serious Social Justice Storytelling going on:
-Female Hero
-Black guy love interest
-"Dont hold my hand" followed by boy needing girls hand
-White guy villian(s)

Boyega's character just didnt fit Star Wars. It would be great for Independence Day but just didnt fit right for Star Wars.

Han lost the Millennium Falcon...cmon

If you are gonna make Rey's character so fast learning and powerful, make her aware of her abnormalities earlier.

Despite all this, an entertaining movie. I will watch all the movies in theater for sure. An 85/100

awesome part. I don't get why when people hate a movie this much though they post in six threads and start one or two to bitch about ti.
We get it Free and Blue you think Adam was ugly and hate the black guy actor. Yes, opinion logged.

Ya, I'm almost positive there is an explanation that will be revealed.

If the writer of LOST (Lindelof, the worst) had written this, I would not have that confidence.

It was Obi-Wan.

I went with a dude who is hearing impaired. He wore the special open-caption glasses while viewing and he said it directly quoted Obi-Wan and there was a bit of Yoda in there as well.

He was too busy looking for things to bitch about and "blacksplotation" to worry about dialogue.

Just saw the movie. Loved it. Looking forward to seeing it again.

Can't wait to find out more about the Knights of Ren in the 2nd movie.

Also, I am disappointed that I didn't get more info about the chick storm trooper in silver armor.

I don't get people's problems with the retreads into old plot lines and nostalgia. This movie was a bridge from the old to new and it was absolutly perfect as that. After the prequels the fans needed to be served well and they needed to reestablish it's greatness. The rest of the movies will tread new waters. They didn't pick a director that has won awards for originality to take the helm of the next movie by accident.

All of this.

They kinda wasted Brienne of Tarth. She should have been the Trooper fighting Finn when he had the saber. They shoulda let us see her being a badass at some point, cause we've never seen armor like that
